See, this is why Christians should be arrested and prosecuted. They're universally nothing more than sadistic greedy pedophiles, even if they seem nice on the outside.

I personally know and have crossed paths with at least as many good Christians as I have their fundie counterparts, if not more. My parents are Christian, and they're seriously the kindest, the least judgmental, and the most generous and genuinely Christlike people I personally know. Given that I'm a gay dude, I was very lucky to have that, and there aren't words for how grateful I am for it.
Someone needs to take a break from FSTDT.
[aside]I'm also lucky that my parents are non-fundie Christians because otherwise there's no telling what they would have done to me trying to exorcise the 'bipolar demons' after I was Baker Acted for being manic AF and beyond batshit insane . Instead of trying to pray the cray away, they made sure I received the proper help and care I needed, and they put a halt to my impulsively throwing away insanely opulent amounts of money on stupid shit. (...bipolar mania really ought to be called buy polar mania.) My parents immediately consulted a lawyer, not a priest, and they probably paid out the ass for his assistance filing a motion for conservatorship in order to make sure it would be fully granted ASAP w/r/t to decisions regarding my treatment and financial assets until I was reasonably stable. I strongly doubt that's anything like how a fundie would react in the same situation.[/aside]
My mother is a catholic, I will never share her idiotic faith in her god but I know as she told me, she sees it all in a progressive(for a religious), universalist way, where only your empathy and harm/benefit to others of your actions will be judged and there`s still purgie for all those imperfect, yet still basically good sentients. Aside from obviously not engaging in kneeling before the figure she worships(whatever he is, he is not Yahve from the christian bible since she`s talking an empathic and while harsh on the monsters of this world, an ultimately sensible creature), I have not much bad to say about the crutch she uses, it helps her be a better person not even because of a reward but because she believes this is actually right.
Okay I know this doesn`t seem all that regular catholic but there it goes, she considers herself a christian, obviously and you`d arrest and prosecute her just for the fact thet she does. Go fuck a cactus.
@shy
If you're gay irl shy, I would be very, very careful. Assuming they really are Christians, they will throw you out like trash in a heartbeat.
It takes only a moment of inattention for Christians to betray you, especially if you're lgbt.
@NeoMatrix: I came out to them when I was sixteen and still living with them. They were nothing less than supportive, and not counting a voluntary ~5 year stint on my own, I continued living with them until I was about 28, after which I moved in with the man who is now my husband.
@NeoMatrix
I was an even bigger issue to mine, born malformed and mismatched in places, still they showed me nothing but support and help, even going as far as to offer financial help with my condition, seeing themselves as partly responsible(actually true but not simply because they had me, it`s a long story and it unsuprisingly involves the Chernobyl reactor meltdown of `86 at some point). Without them or worse with their scorn I would be dead by now, wheter by drinking, or by suicide by cop or simply finally overwhelemend and beaten to death in some alley. With their help I got to be who I am today, happily married(now with 100% more papers) and at least in my personal life as happy as a terran can possibly get.
So where exactly is the part where they threw me out or abused me for it?
Whoa. Despite my dislike of religion & many of its adherents, I can't bring myself to agree with that.
Neo's just a troll. A dedicated one, but a troll nonetheless.
See, I merely distrust religious people, I don't want them arrested ore prosecuted for the stupid shit they do on the reg. Now their *crimes* of course, prosecute those.. don't let them hide behind 'muh religion'. That will keep a lot of them in line.
@insult
It's funny how you call it "fear mongering" when Christians are literally dismantling the US as we speak and gearing up to persecute any who oppose them.
That's why I warn shy and other lgbt people not to associate with Christians. They think you're an abomination. They're not your allies - they voted in Trump. And trying to ally with them is pointless.
@NaziMatrix:
Religion =/= politics.
Dark Lord Trump was elected by the Far Right. Many Far-Righters are "Christian" (or at least call themselves that). But not even anywhere close to all Christians are far-right, and many alt-righters are atheists.
And regardless of what religion they themselves identify with, in reality, the Alt-Right is a personality cult worshipping Dark Lord Trump.
But go on. Prove how all atheists are evil Cultural Marxists who need to be physically removed...
@pharoah
By this point, religion and politics have become so intertwined that they're basically the same thing. A literal theocracy is taking power right now, built up by the Christians of the US who are willing to destroy the world in the name of their imaginary god.
I have no intention of bowing to them though. I'd rather die than submit.
@NeoMatrix
Would you stop blaming all Christians for Trump's win already? Black Christians didn't vote Trump. They overwhelmingly went for Hillary in fact. Same with Hispanic Catholics
Why, it's almost as if trying to lump such a large group like Christians into one monolithic hive mind falls apart in reality, because--SHOCKER!--such a large, diverse group is bound to have difference's in opinions and actions.
The "greedy pedophiles" bit is over the top but the OP isn't completely wrong. For a Christian to defend the traditional concept of hell, non-believers being tormented forever by a supposedly loving god, they have to have some amount of sadism within themselves, no matter how nice they may treat other people. This obviously doesn't mean all Christians are sadistic as a minority hold to either universalism or annihilationism but those beliefs are considered heresies under traditional Christian thought.
@Into the Unknown
Well, enough of them voted for Trump that he won. So that doesn't really matter now, does it? And those "Christians" that you described failed to stop it. In many ways that makes them even worse for it, because they had the power to do the right thing and they didn't. And because of their failure, the US is about to unravel.
@NeoMatrix
You're obviously a troll. This isn't the kind of platform where you're going to get sentiment for generalised bigotry, so I don't know what you're expecting other than getting attention. You probably should go to Reddit or perhaps a Richard Dawkins forum if you want to find people with similar radical generalisations towards religion. That being said, even a fair few Dawks at least don't assume ALL Christians are criminals.
@ Neo- have you forgotten that President Evil has been installed by a hostile foreign power, & the bulk of his domestic support is from white power & business criminals? I am well aware that there is a noisy contingent of unhinged bible sniffers that adore him, but their numbers are simply too low to have installed him. No, he was supported by greedy old business men & terrified old people who are frightened of losing their own white privilege. The world has changed, & it has left them behind. Nothing more.
What happened in Northern Ireland last year, re. those Christain bakers losing their appeal; also, the DUP now reduced to a majority of just one in Stormont (against Sinn Fein) not 24 hours ago: thus their right to oppose* S-SM there is as annihilated as it is across the border.
See, this is why in Soviet Britain, Christains prosecute themselves .
Leave them be. Think about why that legislation-deciding referendum across said border went against the sadistic greedy paedophiles in that part of Ireland a couple of years ago .
If you have the capacity to think , that is.
*- Also, think about why the Church of England clergy peers in the House of Lords dropped their opposition to S-SM a couple of years prior to said Irish referendum.
If these Christians have the ability to think - thus their reasons for dropping their opposition to S-SM in Britain - then what's your excuse, Neo-Nazi...?!
