Do you believe so many stars n galaxy exsist for real?
i cannot believe so many stars even exist. i mean personally i think all telescopes are bunch of toys taking fake pictures. there are only 5000 stars in universe and they're fixed to solid firmament as mentioned in Genesis.
solar system is a lie and earth is flat immobile circle.
please take bible literally or you are a fool. scientists should grow up too.

This is your brain on religion.
Oh, and:
"please take bible literally or you are a fool. "
Fundy in a nutshell.
"scientists should grow up too. "
I can't believe he's posting that over the internet, with a computer, using electricity and probably a heater to keep him warm as he types it, in a room lit by bulbs in a house constructed using modern construction methods.
"Poe. People who have access to the internet can't really be this ignorant of astronomy, can they?"
There isn't anything preventing ignorant people from going on the internet.
@Level10: People who have access to the internet can't really be this ignorant of astronomy, can they?
It all depends on which sites they peruse. I'm guessing this guy spends a lot of time reading Hovind and his following.
Poe
Must be Poe
Please be Poe
It's all very well to call 'poe' on every quote of staggering idiocy, but the point is Poe's law works exactly because however stupid, ill-informed or objectionable you make your argument, there are real examples out there that are just as bad.
NONAME may not be being serious, but there's no discounting that it is still quite probable that they are.
please take bible literally or you are a fool.
Please don't take the Bible literally or you are a fool.
There, fixed that sentence up a bit.
I'd LIKE this to be a piece of lampooning by someone, but the trouble is, after seeing Jake M and Robert Byers in action, I know that there are people this stupid for real.
"People who have access to the internet can't really be this ignorant of astronomy, can they?"
dunno but it seems people completely ignorant of human nature can. hiyooo
I'm wondering what 'poe' means too.
As for whether or not the poster is a troll and/or being sarcastic... Well, it seems you can't access their Yahoo Answers profile anymore, but when I first saw the question (I was the one who submitted it to this site), I believe I checked the poster's profile (they had a different name and avatar at that time) just to check their other posts and see if they really meant what they were saying. And I must say that if they were just trolling, they were doing a pretty consistent and convincing job. Considering some of the other real posts I've seen from time to time, my personal guess is that yes, this person really did mean what they were saying. For any of you who HAVEN'T seen legitimate posts of this sort before, check out the Flat Earth Society website . It's sort of like Stormfront in that after a few minutes of reading it you will find yourself wanting to bash your head on your desk several times.
So...real evidence and observation, and people who can corroborate it = LIES AND FALSEHOODS!
A book cobbled together, retranslated, and likely mangled to serve dozens of peoples' purposes at some point in time or another = the absolute unquestionable truth.
Wow. Just...wow.
They can't ALL be Poes and trolls, people!
I've had people spout stuff at least as stupid as this directly to my face on several occasions.
Sad to relate, there really ARE people this stupid and/or deluded out there.
I reluctantly am of the opinion that this is not a poe, but a person truly desperate to keep his universe as small as possible so it will fit inside his tiny imagination.
I also suddenly have a craving for antidepressants.

This guy is the litteral definition of Fucktard
http://themadadmin.com/wp/?p=833
Shit, with all the quotes here this place should be renamed Fucktards being themselves
Either a Poe, or too stupid to be allowed to breed. I'm hoping it's the former. Really, REALLY hoping.
Heh, I like the "Fucktards Being Themselves" bit, FordJano. Very accurate.
@ NotMe
You may have a point here.
One of my girlfriends had never left the city. The first time we went camping in a relatively uncivilized area, she actually woke me up in the middle of the night because she was scared by all those lights in the sky. I'll never forget the immense wonder in her "Wow..." when I pointed out the Milky Way ("that white streak"), and she made the connection between what she had learned in school and our place in this wondrous universe.
Light pollution can lead to some serious misconceptions...
So which creation story is it? What were the circumstances surrounding Judas' death? How do we reconcile "Thou shalt not kill" and "Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live"? How many legs do insects have, are bats birds or mammals, and what is the value of pi? When was Jesus born, and which of his various ressurection stories is correct? And how do we reconcile all the other contradictions and blatent erros in the Bible?
EDIT:
Esjeur - Discworld ;)
And I'm not sure this is Poe. It's really similar to other fundies I've read and crazy things I've seen, but it's not as convincing as other fundies I've read.
Poe. And a bad one too.

Telescope fail.
The TMT is being built in HI. Hardly a toy.

http://www.tmt.org/
Here's a US$227,000 "toy telescope".
http://www.buytelescopes.com/takahashi-fct-200em-3500-observatory-system
That's for just the scope and the mount, You still need a eyepieces, cameras, instruments, and likely an observatory because you probably don't want to leave your $230,000k+ telescope out in the rain. And that's just "consumer" grade; custom large scopes can get WAY more expensive than that.
Telescopes and optical gear get very expensive in a hurry. While you can certainly buy department-store scopes for under US$50 (I wouldn't recommend it), when you get serious about it, they are hardly "toys". Calling them "toy telescopes" would be roughly analogous to calling the Space Shuttle a "toy airplane".
Confused?
