Is incest dangerous? Only when God does not ordain it. If you recall, God instructed Adam and Eve to multiply. What choice did they have? Honestly, evolution takes a very weak and gullible mind to believe.

"Is incest dangerous? Only when God does not ordain it."
And, you people think us atheists have trouble with ethics?
"If you recall, God instructed Adam and Eve to multiply. What choice did they have?"
Assuming for just a moment that "God" exists and that he DID create Adam & Eve as the first people, your omnipotent, omniscient, good and loving "God" could have created some more people. Don't be obtuse.
"Honestly, evolution takes a very weak and gullible mind to believe."
Of course, that is YOUR conclusion, the conclusion of your weak and gullible mind. I think if you will look around outside of you church friends, you may yet be bright enough to notice that most of the intelligent people aren't propounding creationism, but support the ToE.
Honestly, evolution takes a very weak and gullible mind to believe.
Mirror, mirror, on the wall ...
who's the most delusional of all?
@NDSo Adam and Eve getting it on was incest?
Assuming, for the moment, the story is true, their grandchildren were all the product of incest.
"Evolution takes a very weak and gullible mind to believe?" What the hell? No, I'm sorry, but Evolution takes a fairly sophisticated intellect to understand and believe.
It's creationism that requires you to surrender your judgement.
So only when god finds it 'hot' then incest is okay?
One of the core beliefs of x-tianity is the idea of incest, first with adam and eve and then again with noah. Of course they are going to have a hard time with evolution.
It's hard to imagine that in the most enlightened time in the history of man that stories of divine incest are believed more often then the idea of gradual evolution.
You've got a real ignorant audience there brother randy.
Wait... then that means all the people in the bible after Adam & Eve were fucktards... that explains everything!
Yea... this dipshit has a problem with boys that wear a earring or two, and people who wear all black, yet, he's gun-ho for someone fucking their sister. What a wonderful role model. [/sacrasm]
By the bible's definition of human creation, wouldn't all procreation be incest, since everyone's great-great-.....-great grandparents would have been adam and eve, except of course any of Jesus' offspring(since he was supposedly devinly concieved). But, according to the bible, he never knew a woman...
Sorry but incest is incest and is a sin, no matter what you think or say. And if you use logics plus empirical evidence turns out to be clear. Besides, how is God going to tell you, with a telephone?

One little problem - even if one discounted the Bible, IIRC the human population patterns over the last 1000+ years are such that we're all distantly related to each other anyway.
Heck, just look at the nobility in Europe. By the 1800s and early 1900s, most of the nobles were cousins due to the fact that nobles could only marry nobles.
ND and Shell: No, Adam and Eve need not have been considered siblings or anything (though if anything Eve would have to be considered Adam's clone ). However, their progeny would have had nobody else with whom to procreate but each other.
~David D.G.
By the way, Adam and Eve were not exactly commiting incest. And by the way, from Deuteronomy onwards, they not only condemn it but also consider it things we just laugh on. Please, be consequent.

Incest is only bad between fairly close relatives. I don't know how many generations back you'd have to go to get to the point where any fellow descendants from those common ancestors are about as genetically distant as a random human, but it's probably not many. If your most recent common ancestor was five generations back (great-great-great-grandparents), only about 3% of your DNA (on average) is directly from those ancestors and shared between the two of you. If five generations isn't enough to get to the point where you're genetically different enough for it not to make any difference, it's probably not much more than that. Certainly the effects aren't even close to as bad as first- or second-generation relatives.
The funny thing is, creationists use evolution of a sort to explain why it was OK for Cain to bonk his sister. The fundie argument (pulled out of their asses, as usual) is that God created Adam and Eve with perfect genes, so incest would be OK. But then the human genome gradually got corrupted (due to the Fall). This created various recessive-gene birth defects that could be brought out by incest, so they made a rule against it.
Wait a second. Let's think about this logically, OK. According to the Babble, God created Eve from Adam's rib, so technically *I* would assume that Eve was Adam's daughter and that God was the woman here. So, that to me means that Eve was created from a homosexual relationship and Adam was her father.
Which theory takes a weak and gullible mind to believe?
The bible does not say anything about Adam and Eve being brother and sister, or father and daughter. If so then they could not engage in incest. Sure, their children could but that is not what you are saying here.
QED, bitch.
Here's a math quiz for all the non-believers:
1. Calculate the probability Bro. Randy has slept with his mother, a sister, a first cousin, or his 2 daughters.
2. If Bro. Randy's married his sister when she was 16, and she was 8 months pregnant at the time, at what age will he impregnant their 7th daughter, Brandeen?
1. Calculate the probability Bro. Randy has slept with his mother, a sister, a first cousin, or his 2 daughters.
I'm gonna take a stab in the dark and say oh, 97percent at a conservative guess...
2. If Bro. Randy's married his sister when she was 16, and she was 8 months pregnant at the time, at what age will he impregnant their 7th daughter, Brandeen?
Assuming that his sister was 16 exactly, and that everyitime his sister got pregnant one month after the last baby was born, with 9months as the period of carrying the baby everytime...and assuming the youngest age she could get pregnant was 11...
The answer is add 16yrs and one month to the age Bro Randy was when he married his sister.
Have any of you ever seen Bro. Randy's family pic? Judging from the intelligence he shows making posts and the way he and his children look in that picture, I'd bet money that Bro. Randy is one of the most severely inbred people alive today.
Not to mention, Leviticus 18:6 speaks specifically against incest.
Yes, believing something with evidence and facts is far more weak minded than doing something because God, the Bible, or what have you says so. Yeah, I wish I was strong enough to completely forgo any and all rational thought, and just do what I'm told. Hey, maybe I can go out and get a lobotomy tomorrow! Solve that nasty little problem! WHOO HOO!
Does Bro Handy ever crack open his bible? Seriously dude, Genesis 4.16- the toledot in Gen 5. Then there's always "When God created humankind, he made them in the likeness of God. Male and Female he created them". What an odd little plural there.
How odd that "adam" is so similar to the Heb. word for humankind. Even stranger still, isn't it, that the story of Adam and Eve is painfully obvious a creation allegory that is closely related to those of many other middle-eastern cultures.
But of course, it's way easier to pick out the bits and pieces that support incest... especially when every single story involving true incest shows that it's bad.
What was that about Ham seeing Noah naked?
How about Leviticus 18:6-8? Surely the very same passages that declare being gay an abomination carry the same weight with you when they much more vehemently and repeatedly say the same for incest?
This man has no business running a forum for teens. His knowledge of anything biblical is limited to what he makes up, usually as a justification of his perverse ideas. Giving anyone with a still-forming brain the idea that incest was ok at some point in history really puts a question mark over his ideas on "morality." Someone please start a "Stop Brother Randy" website!
I was going to make some joke about the guy's 15 year old niece being in town but damn, he has kids ??? This is serious stuff. I'm almost certain we'll be seeing some severe scandals come out of that place. Honestly, people who prefer Rocky 5 to Rocky 4 are idiots.
*Bible interpretation*
*Non sequitur*
HA!
Evolution takes a weak and gulible mind to believe?
All the people who say it isn't true barely have a grasp on what it is and instead believe that the invisible sky wizard made the dirt man and rib woman commit incest and tell their children to do the same
Is incest dangerous? Only when genetic disorders are present. If you recall, Amish communities are very closed populations, and yet few have serious genetic problems. This is because of the founder effect. Honestly, Christianity takes a very weak and gullible mind to believe.
Makes more sense than yours. 'Cept the last part...that was just a bullshit tangent no matter what it's in support of.
so, according to Randy, there are no immutable moral laws. God's rules can be changed to suit his purposes, he can be arbitrary or down right dishonest, but it doesn't matter because it's his lego set.
Perfectly understandable, but not a smidgeon hypocritical - if god can't follow even his own rules, why should anyone
Religion only takes "Goddidit", thats easy to believe.
Evolution is much harder, I doubt what you know can fill a thimble
{Is incest dangerous? Only when God does not ordain it. }
Is murder wrong? Only when God does not allow it.
Is rape wrong? Only when God says it is.
Is infanticide wrong? Only during the "eye of the storm" periods where God's not raging his wrath against a city who simply doesn't happen to worship him.
And those heathen non-believers with their subjective morality...
{Honestly, evolution takes a very weak and gullible mind to believe. }
Honestly, you're gonna blow up some irony meters with that statement.
“Is incest dangerous? Only when God does not ordain it.”
So, genetics works different if god says, ’G’head it’s okay.’ Wonder if we could find that switch to treat inheritable genetic conditions?
“If you recall, God instructed Adam and Eve to multiply. What choice did they have?”
The omnipotent being MIGHT have made a real woman rather than cloned the man. But they wanted a just-so story for rib distribution and knew nothing of genetics.
"Honestly, evolution takes a very weak and gullible mind to believe.”
It’s a weak and gullible mind that thinks scientific theories are equivalent to religious dogma.
Confused?
