There won't be any such thing as a USA when the Lord returns, at the end of the tribulation, or for that matter any other functioning nation left after the tribulation.
There won't be an election either.
The Lord's kingdom will be the perfect dictatorship.

"perfect dictatorship"
No such thing.
Dictatories are for slaves, serfs and marks. I am one free man with a pair of balls and i will stay that way.
If some tinpot dictator comes around and fucks my shit up, somebody is going to be introduced to my li'l friend...
perfect dictatorship
oxymoron.
"The Lord's kingdom will be the perfect dictatorship."
That's what all dictators say. The trouble is, dictatorships are only good for the dictator.
Personally I don't understand why anyone would want to live in a dictatorship, the Lord's or otherwise, but imperious here has shown there are people that would love every second of it.
The Lord's kingdom will be the perfect dictatorship.
And there you have it, folks, straight from the fundie's mouth.
Viva le char de fer.
VIVA LA RESISTANCE!
I thought I would get an early start, since I do not plan on living under anyone's dictatorship.
Hey, screw you, I have to agree with these guys! The reign of Duke Leto II, God Emperor/the Tyrant will be the best thing for humanity. We'll burst from our enforced millennial stay on our home planets and scatter across the galaxy, never to be at risk from one ruler again.
Of course, it won't happen for, like, 30,000 years or something, but-
What, it's just as plausible as your myth, and better written to boot!
The Lord isn't returning, you have been left at the altar.
Finally a fundie honest enough to admit their dominionist views.
And Jesus is Hitler now? ...Interesting.
Imperious, you and your ilk ARE the tribulation we have to put up with.
As regards the Lord's kingdom being a dictatorship, you are only displaying the fundies' democracy deficit.
Do fundie Bibles even contain the sermon on the mount? 'Cause I'm beginning to suspect their preachers rip those pages out before allowing their good flocks to read them.
If the Bible only contained that passage and the Psalms only, then it actually wouldn't be such a bad book.
Well, that does seem like something to look forward to, huh?
Change your pant, imp, you just came in your jeans.
Dictatorship? No thanks. Even as a [rational]Christian, I want my freedom in a supposedly perfect place!
It looks like at least one person on that thread can think for themselves, at least marginally:

I don't think dictatorship is the best way to describe His reign, there are too many negative connotations. I think God's reign will be something beyond our ability to classify:
1 Cor. 2:9 "But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.
And because it merits repeating, "Even so, come Lord Jesus!"
I have a feeling that the last sentence was written just to alleviate Buzzardnut's fears of individual thinking. I like this KingdomSeeker guy, I'll be keeping an eye on him when I lurk at RR.
What a load of piffling twits. I doubt imperious or his fellow balless Rapture Readian death cultists have got the guts to enforce a sky fairy's dictatorial will. They certainly haven't any brains between the whole desultory lot of them. They meh and baa like a flock of startled sheep when they are not talking tough and acting hard like a bunch of God-zombies. Anyway, who believes in God and his assumed pathetic creation Satan? What a right pair of twerps they make. Shit for brains and piss-sipper.
The Lord's kingdom will be the perfect dictatorship.
Yeah, but only until someone sneaks into Mordor, and throws the One Ring into the volcanic mouth of Mt. Doom. Then Gondor the USA will triumph and the the Dark Lord Sauron's Jesus' powers will be forever diminished.
And the life of the ebony clock went out with that of the last of the gay. And the flames of the tripods expired. And Darkness and Decay and the Red Death held illimitable dominion over all.
[Not meant to imply that the comment is a Poe.]

Well written, my patootie!
Everybody rags on Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson for "screwing with" the Dune franchise and shoehorning in all sorts of retcons, but Frankly [sic], the retconning started as early as Dune Messiah .
Take a look at how the Guild Navigators are described at the end of Dune . Are they swimming in spice gas? Mutated beyond all recognition? Breathing through gills? NO! They're portly ordinary-looking guys who just happen to have really blue-within-blue eyes. RETCON!
Re-read the description of how Jessica and her unborn baby gained the power of Other Memory after drinking the Water of Life. Was she accessing memories stored in her genes? NO! The Fremen's Reverend Mother downloaded her memories into Jessica's mind. Jessica had access to the Reverend Mother's memories, and to the memories of all the previous Reverend Mothers whose memories this woman had downloaded when she went through the Water of Life ordeal, but no other memories were present. Jessica had only absorbed the memories of a string of Reverend Mothers unrelated to her genetic heritage. RETCON!
And what's this pathetic nonsense in Children of Dune about Paul's kids being pre-born because their mother was addicted to melange?! If that was all it took for an "abomination", then every Reverend Mother who was hooked on the Spice would give birth to abominations, and the Bene Gesserit sisterhood would be crawling with 'em. The original book was clear: Alia was pre-born because she, as a fetus, downloaded the same memories from the old Revered Mother that Jessica downloaded. RETCON!
Put THAT in Frank Herbert's pipe and smoke it!
Well, originally, a "dictator" wasn't the evil guy we think of now, but I doubt imperious knows that.
"There won't be any such thing as a USA when the Lord returns, at the end of the tribulation, or for that matter any other functioning nation left after the tribulation.
There won't be an election either.
The Lord's kingdom will be the perfect dictatorship."
So ... you're saying that Yahweh & son will be in charge, but it won't be a functioning nation? And you people think jebus should be in charge of the U.S. now?
Jesus christ in a side car, at least try to make some sense, man.
Well... nothing specifically wrong with the concept of a dictatorship I guess.
Practical application however... not so good. Still yet to find a good example of a benevolent dictator that lasts more than their first few years.
Still - you're not helping your case.
... Huh. This is actually a genuine case of context.
"Obviously this thread wasn't meant to be taken seriously."
Unless I'm missing something obvious...
There is no such thing as a perfect dictatorship. Is it Jesus that is to return? You are aware that he was last seen in what is today Israel and Palestine? If he is to return he'll probably go there first.
As America mostly have small cultish congregations, he will probably get there last. First he will visit the Catholics in Italy and France, and the Greek and Roman orthodox in eastern Europe, then the Protestants of western Europe. Then he has probably had his fill of people falling to his feet and sucking up to him, and he'll go back home to Heaven again.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
