Would a second Holocaust validate Christianity?I'm inclined to believe that it might happen. I mean hey, I'm seeing some marginalization here and there. There's been a rise of really vocal Atheists.

A second Holocaust would not validate Christianity. It would probably result in another holy war. I know the God of the OT allowed genocide and all, but that's still not a good excuse for murder (if there is such a thing)!
What about "turning the other cheek" and "forgiveness" when it comes to the Atheists? Ah, but of course, that'd be a "liberal" view to take. JESUS WAS LIBERAL YOU MORON.
Wait. All of my points are invalid. Holocaust = Nazis = Godwin = FAIL
There's been a rise of really vocal Atheists because you fuckers aren't killing us anymore for being vocal about it.
What that has to do with references to a certain Roman Catholic who institutde the Holocaust of the 20th century makes sense to you and you alone.
"Would a second Holocaust validate Christianity?"
Hey, why not... the Bible seems to have failed in that regard...
Firstly, Holocausts do not validate any religion. They point out how absolutely fucked up humans can be to each other.
Secondly, an 80% population of Christians is not in any danger of being shuttled off to prison camps.
Thirdly, fuck you for thinking a few loud mouthed atheists is anything close to persecution.
Forth, if you were hinting that atheists should be exterminated in the name of Christianity... fuck you!
I'm going to tell you what I told my mom when she brought this utterly insane dribble to me.
If, in five years, if you are under no threat of death, still alive, still able to practice Christianity in your own church, able to live where you please, you have no fear of being shot in the streets by atheists, your money was not all taken away from you just because you're Christian....
...then you owe me $20. It increases to $40 if that hasnt happened in 10 years.
"Would a second Holocaust validate Christianity?"
The first one didn't. I don't see why another one would.
"I'm inclined to believe that it might happen."
I'm inclined to believe you're a fucking moron.
"I mean hey, I'm seeing some marginalization here and there. There's been a rise of really vocal Atheists."
Which has what to do with anything?
Given the infiltration by the religious right of American politics, and the sale of the Republican Party's soul to the RR, I think that there is a case for considering this seriously. Reading 'Fundies say the Darndest Things' I'm amazed at the hatred of gays, atheists, evolutionists etc.
So, should the RR achieve their political goals, I have little doubt but that there would be another holocaust, for the love of Jesus. Of course there is ample precedent with the catholic and protestant versions of persecution and inquisition. And somehow I thing that waterboarding would be the gentlest of the tortures imposed. As blood is sacred (The blood is the life) churches are not allowed to spill it, hence burning alive.
So my advice to American gays, atheists, evolutionists and non RR believers, is to work out the quickest and safest way to Canada or Mexico before the religious crazies take over. Don't leave it too late. It's already 1938.
And you wonder why I've become more vocal in speaking out against the evils of Christianity in recent years..
There once was a time -- not all that long ago, actually -- when I adopted a more 'live and let live' attitude.
"I'm incline to believe that it might happen." You almost sound like you would like it to happpen. What the hell's wrong with you?
"There's been a rise of really vocal Atheists."
Sorry, I don't understand. Do you think the Atheists are going to cause another holocaust or do you think we should be the victims of
another holocaust. Either way, again, what the hell's wrong with you?
How does murdering anyone help solve anthing?
@Antichrist
I have a feeling this is the standard persecution whining, and he's trying to claim the Christians would be. However, the irony is, as has been pointed out, should the Raptards get any real power, the Atheist Holocaust would likely NOT be far off.
By a "second Holocaust" I think this nitwit means wholesale extermination of Christians, not Jews. He's fearful that 15% of the population is going to ramp up from persecuting the 85% to wholesale slaughter. All in all this has to be the wimpiest -- and most stupid -- 85% of any population that ever existed.
What is he saying, that atheists will rise up and put Christians in concentration camps? Is this some kind of bizarre persecution complex fantasy? I seriously doubt the 15% of us would be able to do that to the other 85% of the population in this country, even if we wanted to.
A second holocaust could well be the result ofchristianity...
after all itwas christianity which promoted antismitism from the medieval ages onwards (partly because "the jews kild our savior" and partly because they were hungry for the rich possession of jews). Even Hitler was partially motivated by christian reasons, if I remember correctly.
No, it wouldn't. As many others have pointed out, ANY Holocaust is bad. While I'm not a big fan of those Abramaic religions (or any, really) created before SCIENCE!!!, it doesn't mean that people should be killed for something they've been cultually taught their whole lives to believe . It's not their fault they were born into religion.
Even if one was attemped, however, it would point out to you enthusiastic Christians that most of us in the U.S. are actually pretty lukwarm/agnostic about the whole thing. We might technically be 80% Christian, but few of us outside the South go to church every week. How does believing in an ancient blood sacrifice help us in the modern world of science and global economy? (Sorry, rant over! ; ) )
It's funny how fundies go on and on about killing people with different beliefs, then act like other people demanding equal time is persecution.
Saying something you said was dumb is not in any way equivalent to the Holocaust. If you think it is, you fail at life. Forever.
I infer he means a Holocaust against Christians.
Would this show Christianity to be right? No more so than the one the Christians perpetrated against the Jews showed the Jews to be right. I know Fundies like to say "It was Nazis, not Christians, but given the fact that 90% of Nazis were baptised Christians, they can't get away with that. (Statistics pulled from my arse, but in the general vicinity of right)
Well, the first one didn't validate Judiasm, it just convinced people to treat the surviving ones a little better. So, no.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
