“Well, suppose the crap ranging system of NASA's buffoons is able to locate the probe relatively to the Earth.”
Why start with the assumption that they’re buffoons and the system is crap?
“But the Earth runs at 65,000 miles per hour and turns around itself at 1,000 miles per hour.”
Oh! You have numbers! And…?
“Radio signals from the probe near Saturn arrive to the Earth after 1 hour and 20 minutes.”
Yep.
“Suppose NASA's buffoons have invented a system able to take into account all these difficulties”
You mean, Math?
“(But if your tower control is in the opposite place - the Earth turns around itself - as regards your probe ... can your crap system receive the radio signal?)”
Dude, Houston can keep in contact with a spaceship in orbit for the entire flight. They have multiple stations all talking to each other. The ‘crap’ system is smarter than you are.
"calculating the displacement of the Earth and its rotation, and the delay of radio signals.”
Yeaaaaaaah…..?
“And then??? Have they solved anything???”
You mean, like, updating yesterday’s answer of ‘where you at?’ to today’s answer? Yeah, they can do that.
“NO, THEY HAVE SOLVED NOTHING, BECAUSE THEY DON'T KNOW WHERE IS THEIR PROBE AS REGARDS SATURN, OR VENUS, OR MARS, OR JUPITER THEREFORE (I like this word)”
Why wouldn’t they know? People with telescopes have been tracking the celestial bodies for hunnerds and hunnerds of years, ain’t they?
“THEREFORE THEY CAN'T STEER THE PROBE BECAUSE THEY DON'T KNOW WHERE IS THE TARGET AS REGARDS THEIR BULLET”
Wait, go back and explain how they don’t know where the probe has to go to meet Saturn?
If they can calculate how long it’ll take the probe to reach Saturn, they can calculate where Saturn will be at that time. Then tracking the probe and adding it to the map of Saturn, we get the trajectory needed to intersect.
As the training film says, ‘The probe knows where it’s at because the probe knows where it isn’t. Subtracting the goal position from the current position leaves the distance/direction required for the probe to achieve intersection. Most of these calcuations were completed before launch…”
You’re something of an idiot, ain’tcha?
