Science should be taught as Biblical, even understanding a scientific theory does not men it is to be believed as fact
In geography we study the terrain of China but that does not mean we approve the government

Nope, but we approve that they have a lot of very interesting geographical formations.
Exactly Buzzardhut, in science we study biology, with the aim of obtaining useful and factual information, but it doesn't mean that we approve of the bible and other religious tomes with their mystical approach to everything.
It's all down to comfort really. Some people obtain comfort from mystic nonsense, while other people are more comfortable and are happier to live in a science-minded modern society with a scientific and technological infrastructure. For instance, if I were to be involved in an accident, I'd rather be attended by trained medical people than by mumbo-jumbo spouting mystics.
In a way, religion acts like a hallucinogenic drug. And I say, "Don't do drugs".
Which China is Buzzardhut referring to, as technically there are 2 China's, the Republic of China a/k/a Taiwan, & The Peoples Democratic Republic of China,a/k/a Mainland China, & each regards the other as a "Renegade Province", & even issue budgets concerning the other ...?
*double facepaw*
No.
Just... no.
Maybe not, but we still acknowledge that the government of China exists and needs to be taken into account. Buzzardhut's arguement seems to imply that we should go to China and ignore the government. We can only hope that he attempts to put this idea into practice. I, for one, could do with a really good, long, belly laugh.
We could only teach science as biblical, that is in the bible (and doesn´t contradict modern scence).
Well, obviously that excludes all natural sciences, all engineering hm, well, everything which I would call "hard science".
Not even history cozld be taught as biblical, considering the fact that there are many contradictions between the accounts within the bible and the results of modern archaeology ;)
So, well, if we throw out all unbiblical sciences, we should get rid of all scientific/technological advances we made in the last 2500 years ;)
PS Obama really sends them off the rails! Any thread about him racks up hundreds of whinings (this one was at 420 as I write) ALL based on the idea that he's in the process of turning the US into Nazi Germany or Soviet Russia.
He is accused of intending to subvert the Constitution (as GWB did with his "Patriot Act" and a host of other dubious actions) destroy the free press and TV (refer to Fox, Limburgh and all the other rightwing broadcasters slandering the president)
"Planks and motes" spring to mind...
Government & terrain have what to do with each other? About as much as science and the Bible. In other words, nothing.
Oh, and people in China actually have jobs and health care right now. Lets clean our own yard before complaining about how messy the one down the street is.
The government of China is in no way related to the terrain of China.
Understanding a scientific THEORY means that yes, it is accepted as being closer to the truth than most other explanations.
"Science should be taught as Biblical, even understanding a scientific theory does not men it is to be believed as fact"
That's pretty much exactly what an understanding of a scientific theory means. Until some better explanation is developed that theory is as much of a "fact" as you can get.
"In geography we study the terrain of China but that does not mean we approve the government"
Geography and political science are two different things you fucking gibbering moron.
That makes perfect sens- HUH?
OK, so let me guess... in your perfect Christian theocracy, you'd teach science in school but tell them that it's not to be believed? Somehow I can believe that, since you Christians enjoyed putting warning labels on textbooks.
I've made this point on many fundie arguments: Their ability to discern simularities in topics is dismal. Their upbringing has forced so many contradictory concepts together that they connect totally opposite scenarios and think yhat makes sense.
It wouldn't surprise me that southern phychatry has catagorized some dementia as 'pulpit madness' or 'compansating delusion' due to 'narrow but deep religious convictions'
Wow, Buzzardhut agreeing with me?
I confess I'm not fully clear about his word salad, but since I utterly disagree with teaching the Bible as science, and Buzzardhut wants the exact opposite, teaching science as Biblical, I guess we do agree.
And the Government of China is indeed as reprehensible as the Bible's numerous scientific errors.
Mount Mitchell is the highest point in America east of the Rockies. But I don't approve of the people in North Carolina, so I choose not to study it.
In other words, elephant banana garbage noodle. It makes as much sense.
What?
ok, the only possible way you can back out of this corner is to either admit that was stupid, never gonna happen is it, or claim you don't believe in the existence of china.
That made absolutely no sense, whatsoever. Please return when you have sorted out your ideas and constructed an argument that actuallt makes sense.
The terrain of the area now known as China has nothing to do with the government of said area. The terrain has been there since long before China was a country, and it will be there long after humans are extinct. As long as we don't blow up the Earth first, that is.
I drive a Volkswagen but that doesn't mean I approve of Hitler.
Just what the fuck is it with these people and their awful analogies. They get worse and worse by the day. And when one of these clowns puts "science" and "biblical" in the same sentence - duck. Shit shower descending fast.
Confused?
