Well, the court costs for ‘life in prison’ are a lot less than the costs of a prosecution seeking the death penalty, so, um, lower taxes?
I mean, I oppose the death penalty, not the method of deathiness.

Cigarettes. i read a SciFi story where tobacco was banned as a carcinogen. And society let murderers choose their death penalty. A guy killed his sister in law and asked for death by cigarette. Spent 8 hours each day watching the news and trying to get cancer.Watched a LOT of murderers turning themselves in, too…

Why is this ‘for my children’? Is banning lethal injection going to bring back public executions? I know plenty of people would have them televised, but that seems unlikely for beheading.

Um, no, there’s no draft right now. And that would not be an ‘unintended consequence.’ Every time the issue of women in combat comes up, some dickhead is demanding that we bring back the draft,and draft women, to make things ‘fair.’
Maybe you need a bit of a lay down? Just until your brain stops setting off those sparks?
