If "good" exists, then something must conceivably exist that is "not good". If we know that a murderous, genocidal, maniac is not a good person, then there must be someone or something that is good.
If God orders the mass killing of hundreds of men, women, and children, does this, by itself, necessarily mean that God is a murderous, genocidal, maniac? I don't see how it follows.

Don't forget that for a lot of these people, the only reason for being good is that God will punish them if they're not.
