[So when a woman hires someone to perform an abortion, she's a murderer?]
Well......It's illegal to hire a hitman, isn't it?

Yes.
The murder of a real person is illegal.
The "murder" of the idea of a person that might exist someday is not.
This explains why creationists hate debate - the systematic rebuttal of ideas presented as fact is a mortal sin.
play Blazing Star. The final boss is proof (at least, 'proof' on the same level as you guys usually apply and demand; ie; its from a work of fiction rather than peer-reviewed or tested) that abortion is SELF DEFENSE.
Fetuses, unlike BABIES, are anything but defenseless. As a matter of fact they take over evil galactic empires on a regular basis and can shred spacecraft with a hail of ammunition.

People, it's not fundie to oppose abortion. An overwhelming number of Catholics, for example, who are not fundamentalists, oppose it. This is a perfectly reasonable pro-life argument and your mocking of it makes you sound as educated and reasonable as those you lampoon.
"Well......It's illegal to hire a hitman, isn't it?"
Indeed, but it is not illegal or unethical to hire a doctor to remove a clump of unwanted cells from one's own body.
Ah, yes. It will only be a matter of time until he starts spewing racist, sexist, homophobic shit, as well as plenty of rape apologies. I thought this guy was banned a long time ago.
hiring an assassin to murder a real adult person with thoughts and desires is illegal yes
Too bad a blastocyst doesn't have thoughts, desires or even a nervous system, therefore you analogy fails.
@Orisis - who knows where this post is going to head! Just sit back and watch.
@Puck - points to you! Guess we have to send all urologists to jail.
Uberbeliever lost all creditability with me when he/she/it used "Uber" in his/her/its user name. I can't stand the extensive use of "Uber" all of a sudden in today's lexicon. How about a hitman to anyone who uses "Uber" in a sentence?
Killing a fetus the day before it is born is not murder, but killing it the day after is.
Killing a 5-month old premature baby in a hospital is murder, but aborting a 5-month old fetus is not.
Goshh, the logic is really simple. The supreme court of the world already figured out like 30 years ago when life actually begins. Will you PLEASE stop thinking for yourself about when a baby becomes a separate entity with its own rights??
My argument is that it is possible for someone to come to believe that life begins at conception and that such a belief does not require religious fundamentalism to reach.
With advances in medical science, fetuses can survive out of the womb at earlier and earlier stages of development, and the process of being born does not meaningfully change the physiology of a fetus.
It is intellectually dishonest to label people "fundies" solely on the belief that an individual's life begins at some point prior to "birth" and that ending the life is immoral.
The stage at which an individual's "life" begins has not been established through scientific or democratic discussion.
There are plenty of fundamentalist positions worthy of ridicule, but the level of discussion is lowered when anyone who believes this issue is better dealt with in communities through scientific and democratic processes rather than a decision rendered by nine political appointees (that can at some point be reversed if new judges are appointed).
Accepting that Roe v. Wade is law of the land and any who oppose it are crazy fundies is dangerous -- Imagine if at a future date, different judges hold a different opinion, and rather than simply overturn Roe and turn the issue over to discussions on the state or local level, they instead form a new judgment that abortions are illegal nation-wide in all cases, with no exceptions.
This sounds more like a sick joke to me than a pro-life argument.
Edit: For real, the last line may as well be a punchline.
Confused?
