"atheists" like to feign that they are as spiritual as Christians.......which is really just a weak but revealing attempt at being like a Christian while continuing to pretend at not believing in God while also trying to reach the ever elusive goal of TRULY not believing in God—.and then, after all of that, pretending that atheists are not the most obviously conflicted people on the planet.
So for the sake of clarity, there is nothing spiritual about a belief that there is no deity. That kind of childish silliness may work in the group think arena of "atheistland" but nowhere else.

Holy run-on sentence Batman!

Silly Christain. We worship Darwin and the Theory of Evolution. Our Bible is The Origin of Species. You'd know that if you would leave your bubble of ignorance that protects you from anything logical and scientific that I like to call Jebusland.
I'm sorry to disappoint you, seeker, but here in "realityland" (what you call "atheistland"), atheists don't need to pretend not to believe in God; their lack of belief, like it or not, is very real.
That having been said, you actually did get one part right. There is, in fact, nothing spiritual about believing that there isn't a God. What you seem to be unwilling or unable to grasp, however, is that atheists don't consider this a bad thing .
"christianists" like to feign that they are as knowledgable as atheists.......which is really just a weak but revealing attempt at being like an atheist while continuing to pretend there is a giant man with a long white beard who lives on clouds while also trying to reach the ever elusive goal of TRULY believing in the giant man and then, after all of that, pretending that christianists are not the most obviously conflicted people on the planet.
So for the sake of clarity, there is nothing intelligent about a belief that there is a giant man who will strick you with lightning is you disobey him. That kind of childish silliness may work in the group think arena of "christianistland" but nowhere else.
Fixed.
Hang on, Seeker uses "atheists". If that's the case, then what the fuck are we?! Heathens, Buddhists, Muslims, Noodley appendages from the flying spaghetti monster? It troubles me not being anything (extreme sarcasm).
"So for the sake of clarity, there is nothing spiritual about a belief that there is no deity. "
No shit, Sherlock. Figure that out all on your own, did ya?
"So for the sake of clarity, there is nothing spiritual about a belief that there is no deity."
There are a lot of Buddhists who might like to have a word with you about that opinion.
You have obviously never have been an atheist, and never will understand what atheism is.
The best part is we don't have to be brainwashed by religion - which is invented by man as are gods and devils.
When I see my fellow man in danger I help him/her and I don't have to even THINK about what religion they are.
In Europe, the only time your religion is asked is when it comes to your own funeral and in my whole 73-year lifetime has ANYONE even asked even at official level.
Only in Fucked-up Fundie America, Saudi Arabia and Nazi Germany is it an issue.
I'm an atheist and I don't consider myself spiritual at all, nor do I feel the need to become spiritual. Most of the atheists I know don't consider themselves spiritual either.
Those who do call themselves spiritual aren't talking about a literal spirit. Buddhist teachings, for instance, can actually be applied to ones life without the need for an all-powerful deity to be in control. Meditation is a form of relaxation, and so on. "Spirituality", in this sense of the word, predates your little religion by thousands of years.
Quit making shit up about people trying to be like Christians -- no one wants to be you. NO ONE.
""atheists" like to feign that they are as spiritual as Christians."
No, I don't.
"there is nothing spiritual about a belief that there is no deity"
No, there isn't. You're just making shit up.
Are these the same atheists that rip me a new one for practicing Zen? The same ones that say all spirituality is a farce? The ones that say I can't be an atheist and a Buddhist at the same time?
I don't think you have actually spoken to many atheists.
Note, I don't care if others think spirituality is a farce or not, Zen works for me
"'atheists' like to feign that they are as spiritual as Christians."
I don't.
"So for the sake of clarity, there is nothing spiritual about a belief that there is no deity"
I agree
Another moron who isn't an athiest trying to tell the world what athiests believe, or do, or think, or like, or...
“"atheists" like to feign that they are as spiritual as Christians.......”
Well, yeah. Nothing above tells us to worship nothing with all our hearts. Nothing is the external source of our morals. Nothing is sacred to us. Nothing matters more to us than reality.
“which is really just a weak but revealing attempt at being like a Christian while continuing to pretend at not believing in God while also trying to reach the ever elusive goal of TRULY not believing in God—.”
Oh, this mind-reading crap again. Exactly how do you stand over THERE and look at ME and decide that i actually believe in God AND it’s the same God you claim to believe in?
“and then, after all of that, pretending that atheists are not the most obviously conflicted people on the planet.”
Someone hurt you, didn’t they? Was it Dave? I’ll bet it was Dave. Dave’s always been a little shady.
“So for the sake of clarity, there is nothing spiritual about a belief that there is no deity.”
The atheists that claim they are spiritual are NOT claiming their atheism is spiritual. They ARE saying they can stil have spiritual feelings despite not believing in your gods.
"That kind of childish silliness may work in the group think arena of "atheistland" but nowhere else.”
As opposed to your TOTALLY GROWN-UP approach of calling every atheist a liar….
Confused?
