The same mindset required to follow a Hitler is required to buy into evolutionism. Evolutionism is the political activism of promoting evolution and fighting creationism.
What is required to follow a Hitler is what is required to follow the evolutionism: practically all have the same mindset, and the conscensus of their fellow evolutionists rules. They follow leaders easily, and agree to dogma even if it is false and unscientific, or downright harmful.

The same mindset required to follow a Hitler is required to buy into creationism. Creationism is the religious activism of promoting creation and fighting intelligent thinking.

Fixed.
I would not vote for a bad leader who was an evolutionist, but neither would I vote for an adequate leader who was an extremely open creationist who looked like he wanted the USA to be a theocracy.
As a matter of fact, I don't think politics should be based on something like evolution because it really doesn't apply to society at all. Social Darwinism is bs.
It does apply to society. Particularly in dealing with diseases and indeed teaching our children science. Its a cutting edge science that is under attack because its cutting edge. Because its leaving people "behind" in what they know.
It seems useless but the understanding of evolution also teaches us to use it for good by making things using bacteria.
"They follow leaders easily, and agree to dogma even if it is false and unscientific, or downright harmful. "
And in related news, two religious idiots let their daughter die because they don't believe in any medical intervention beyond prayer.
Christianity falls right into your statement,Am.
To follow what Hitler said you've got to be a racist who wants to apply a single human group all the problems in a society to hide the real background of the matter and make demagogy. You can use religion or scientific theory(rather distort, I'd say)to get your goal, but irrational is and irrational it remains.
"....to follow a Hitler...."
....Baka....
In German(I think, in something), "Hitler" means "saviour".
So, dude, what you're saing is...
"The same mindset required to follow a Saviour is required to buy into evolutionism."
.....Hm.....
...-shoots you-
Oh my God! You mean all it takes to follow a Hitler is a theory of evolution? But we already have a theory of evolution! All it will take now is if we get a Treaty of Versailles, a Weimar Republic, and a national atmosphere of anti-semetism, then we'll all be plunged into badness!
Truly we are teetering on a knife edge.
wtf? why do these fundies keep thinking that evolution is some kind of ism? its not the people high up indoctrinating people with unjustified dogma! anyone who had the evidence in front of them would come to the same conclusion, it just goes to show that most fundies don't even know what they're arguing against, or even how science works
"What is required to follow a Hitler is what is required to follow the evolutionism"
Really? Because I thought the whole 'jews are evil and killed our lord' was a Christian thing. And that Hitler was a catholic. Oh well.
". . . I am convinced that I am acting as the agent of our Creator. By fighting off the Jews, I am doing the Lord's work."
- Adolf Hitler, Mein Kampf
"We were convinced that the people need and require this faith. We have therefore undertaken the fight against the atheistic movement, and that not merely with a few theoretical declarations: we have stamped it out."
- Adolf Hitler, 1933 speech in Berlin
Christianism inevitably leads to naziism.
There is so much wrong here I can't even wrap my brain around it to comment.
Although, I will say this sounds very christian like to me:
"They follow leaders easily, and agree to dogma even if it is false and unscientific, or downright harmful."
They follow leaders easily, and agree to dogma even if it is false and unscientific, or downright harmful.
Your preacher told you this, right?
Like I posted on a Carico thread; they use 'evolutionist' to mean anything they don't like;
Nazis,
devil worshippers,
tree huggers,
people with tattoos . . .
the list goes on
and on . . .
The same mindset required to follow a Hitler is required to buy into creationism. Creationism is the political activism of promoting creation and fighting logic.
What is required to follow a Hitler is what is required to follow the creationism: practically all have the same mindset, and the conscensus of their fellow creationist ules. They follow leaders easily, and agree to dogma even if it is false and unscientific, or downright harmful.
Fixed it.
@Kitourahime
euh..... 'Hitler' means 'Saviour' in German ???
I must have dozed off during my German lessons because I have never ever heard that ...... that means never.
But maybe you're implying the Germans pre 1945 saw Hitler as saviour, in that you are correct (at least a big part of the Germans saw him thus) .... and a fat lot of good it did them.
I speak flawless German, Hitler is just a last name and means nothing (as in it has no meaning, not that it means nothing, arrrgh, confusing !).
ANYway...AM's totally of course.
I've been thinking about social Darwinism lately. Wouldn't it be more like what the US is heading with no social safety nets at all? Where the survival of the socially fittest, means if you can't make it on your own or with your immediate family, well then go off and die in a gutter somewhere?
Oh and since it's here.

Oh dear, another fundiform who has swallowed the Ben Stein Kool-Aid.
While some here might feel distaste at visiting the web site of the National Review, John Derbyshire has written a piece about Ben Stein and his propaganda that is apposite with respect to this fundie's acceptance of the "evolution leads to Hitler" lie:
A Blood Libel On Our Civilisation
Spread it around, everyone.
'They follow leaders easily, and agree to dogma even if it is false and unscientific, or downright harmful.'
Describes a lot of fundy Christians PERFECTLY.
“The same mindset required to follow a Hitler is required to buy into evolutionism.”
What mindset would that be? “The Jews caused all your problems!” I can see tha t coming up a lot in a biology textbook.
Wisdom teeth? Jews stole the bigger jaws.
Vestigial Organs? Jews stole the function.
Mutations? Jews sabotagued the replication!
"What is required to follow a Hitler is what is required to follow the evolutionism: practically all have the same mindset,”
Hmmm. Like Trump, Hitler’s attraction was who he championed and who he blamed. We don’t blame anyone for evolution.
"and the conscensus of their fellow evolutionists rules.”
This pretty much applies to every science discipline, no? Everyone that buys into electrial theory or gravity theory or four color map theory has the same mindset in defending that theory.
"They follow leaders easily,”
Ah. You didn’t actually do the chapter reading they assigned, did you? They don’t just tell us ‘evolution is fact, okay, done.’ They explain how they know. It takes work. And i’ve never read Dawkins.
“and agree to dogma even if it is false and unscientific, or downright harmful.”
Electricity can be harmful, that has no bearing on the truth of the theory.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
