Well, let’s see. Creationists champion an attitude that ideological purity is superior to scientific accuracy. In and of itself, Creationism isn’t that harmful, but it is a fertile field for anti-vaxxers, which gets people killed of avoidable diseases, and for climate denial, which is going to destroy the planet. Also, they protect and project intolerance of homosexuality and transgendered persons,which is causing all sort of harms, because their bronze-age superstition is more important than knowing what the fuck they’re talking about.
So,Harm. that’s what I fear about ‘Young Earth Scientism.’

I do like science. Researchers in creationism sign a statement of faith that they will not publish any evidence that argues against a literal reading of Genesis. It’s not science.
And I do not put ‘faith’ in science. But I’m sitting here on a computer, talking on the internet, benefiting from the products of rather a lot of science. I trust it.

We are correcting it. That’s why we keep telling young earthers that they’re full of shit.
