When people hurt me, I focus my mind on the fact that I am a redeemed child of God! I focus my mind on the Biblical truth that I am God's property, my spirit, soul and body. I rejoice in knowing that God owns me! I want and love being owned by God, because that means He has an investment in me (1st Thessalonians 5:24, “Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it”), and won't ever give up on me (Hebrews 13:5).

One of the less... extremist things I've heard from DJS, although hearing it come from him of all people is admittedly disconcerting, as though his views and his deeds are fully justified. Which isn't the right way, much as it may be wish fulfilment for many.
The idea of being a possession of God isn't entirely fundamentalist as it is. I do consider myself as belonging to Him as well. Cf Romans 14:8, Quran 2:156 for references to religious scriptures in Christianity and Islam respectively.
I'm not sure where I heard it, but I do hear narratives of being 'possessed by the Holy Spirit' (exact words). The closest I've come to reading of it within scripture would be Acts 20:22 ("Compelled by the Holy Spirit...").
Nah, nothing of that sort. It's more or less the (incorrect) notion that God as the Holy Spirit makes decisions for a person, to have them act beyond their control, even.
I don't think that's the entire picture given that the nature of God is to woo rather than to whelm (Jonah 4:2); that would be severe interference with free will for one.
Hey God, could you please remove your property from our planet? It's cluttering up the landscape. We'll give you until Thursday. Since we see no evidence that you have taken any interest in well over seven years, we'll treat it as abandoned property after that.
That would have more meaning if you were actually saintly and Christlike....but you're not and your a kid-diddling jerk who hates everything and everybody, is super-misogynist and all-around awful!
Thus; This little tirade will simply show what a pile of hubris conceit you are, Mr. Special Snowflake!
"Ooh! I'm more holier than thou are!"
Eat my lady-pants!
When people hurt me
And just who is that? Women who wear pants? Your wife who realized life in outer space without a helmet is better than being married to you? The little girl who "ratted" on you for raping her? The local government in Guam that treats you like what you are, a criminal? The local pastor who couln't take any more of your 'only JKV' crap and told you to shut up?
Martyr complex much?
Lie in the first sentence. You lash out. Hell people don't even have to hurt you for you to hate them, curse them, call for their destruction, and blame them for your own sins.
I am a redeemed child of God!
...who posts obsesses over young girls.

Therein lies the greatest danger of your religion: it teaches slaves to obey their masters.
Serenity now.
Serenity now!
SERENITY NOW!!!!
Honestly, this is probably the nicest thing I've read from Mr. Stewart. It's about the kind of emotional comfort that only religion can provide, and while I do think it's empirically bullshit, I confess that part of me envies the ability to hold the comforting delusion that there is a greater power looking after you.
None of which excuses Mr. Stewart's various despicable views and actions, obviously. Just that I don't feel this is one of them.
...and when you hurt that child, you became an irredeemable subhuman.
Focus on that , as Guam's justice system and the FBI/US Customs & Immigration own you .
Not being able to travel to the mainland for surgery on your back/neck to treat that 24/7/365 pain. You know what your J-boy said about Millstones round the neck, don't you David J. Pedo: as your 'God' does a Rickroll on you.
Would a just God allow one of his 'sheep' to be in pain: especially when, after hurting one of his little ones, that sheep turns out to be a wolf : and an extremely predatory one, at that...?!
Just take a good look at your situation right now: your ex divorcing you, and ensuring that you'll never be able to so much as touch your daughter again. Ever. You being financially punished, too. That 24/7/365 back/neck pain. Your self -exile on Guam: and why . Your criminal record. Your 'God'. Where is he?
Confused?
