I would do whatever God said to do because it's foolishness to rebel against the Almighty God of Heaven. If God said someone had to die and I was the one charged with doing it then I would do it no matter what I thought and even if the person was my best friend or my relative whom I loved.

You can't fight God and win. All you can do is disobey Him and end up on the casualty list. At most I would try and intercede for the person in prayer and hope that God would be merciful and spare their life, but if not then me not killing them wouldn't save them it would just put me in the place where I would have to fear for my own life.
