We believe that every child is born as a Muslim. Religion is not given by the family, but it is a natural religion given by our God at birth. The role of the family is to teach the traditions of the faith. But that faith is implanted at birth.

So given that Atheism is the default programming, you should give up your religion and revert....

What the hell?
I do recall reading somewhere that children are naturally inclined to a degree of dualism, which is part of what fuels almost every religions' belief in a non-physical soul...
*edit: Found it! It's in the work of Paul Bloom, a professor of psychology at Yale. He mentioned it in his 'How Children Learn the Meaning of Words' which is truly an interesting read I'd recommend to anyone. Here's an article where he was interviewed about it, too http://www.theatlantic.com/doc/200511u/paul-bloom
I don't recall anything about infants being naturally inclined toward the quran, or any other Islamic religious icons, or anything else that would indicate them being inclined toward any religion. I wonder how we could test this.
Moreover, I wonder how long it would take the good Sheikh here to either decry our evidence as being the product of a conspiracy, or think of some special pleading to invalidate it. I imagine it wouldn't take very long at all, if our evidence disagreed with him.
That's strange, I've heard Christians say that everyone is born Christian, some of them just turn against God.
You don't suppose that children just follow the religion of their parents because they're brainwashed into it, do you? No, that makes too much sense.

I'm sure you're aware FSTDT commenters have the tendency to take loony comments and replace a few crucial words, while keeping the internal logic of the looniness in question perfectly intact.
Now, the Fundies have learned to do that, too. I'm pretty sure I've seen the original post before more than a few times here. Said by a Christian. Speaking of "God Spots" inside every human, and whatnot.
O.K.,
then make an experiment:
raise a child up, without letting it get into contact with any religion (and also not with atheism).
Just don´t mention religion (or a god) at all (and keepit isolated,so that it doesn´t have anychance to gain knowledge about religion/god by other persons).
(and if it asks questions about the world just give it the answers that are in accordance with natural sciences)
If, as you say, religion is something naturally given at birth, the child should as it grows up, come by itself to the conclusion that everything was created by god/allah/YHWH.
If it doesn´t, this seems to be a clear sign that religion is something made by man
;)
Addendum:
As #1068803 mentions feral children...
looks like we have the perfect examples for such kids which grew up without any influence by religion...
and I never heard any of these feral children becoming religious by itself...
if you were right (with your belief that religion is something already present at birth)
these feral children should, despite the fact that they grew up without cultural influence (and maybe lived among wild animals), still have knowledge about god/religion
We believe that you're a delusional piece of shit, and by believe I mean that it's almost so goddamn certain that I'm tempted to just say "know", and by certain I mean reality strongly supports the idea unlike your retarded fucking beliefs, and by we I mean "I".
*sighs* I feel a little better.
Yet, I have never felt the urge to visit a mosque and convert to Islam.
I guess your god forgot to visit me at birth and for that, I'm grateful.
My God's better than your God,
My God's better than yours,
My God's better
'Cause He eats Ken-L-Ration®,
My God's better than yours!

See, look Christians! They think the same thing! Now both of you can't possibly be right, can you?
Well, I guess they are since they both worship the exactly same Abrahamic god, God/Allah/Yahweh or GAY for short.
Huh, funny I hear the same thing from Jesus freaks that everyone is born a Christian. Will you guys please get together and at least come up with a consensus? Oh wait... that's impossible because you're all playing the "My God Is Better Than Your God" game.
Faith is implated at birth, huh? So our young minds can already contemplate the mysteries and ramifications of believing in a diety without any proof even before we can crawl, walk, talk or poop in the potty? I see, gotcha!
"We believe that every child is born as a mooselim." (note user name, HA)
Well, in many mooselim countries, you ARE born a mooselim because they say you are whether you like it or not.
"Religion is not given by the family..." Rightoo! It is given by the state. Period. Even placed on your passport in some places.
No. All children, everywhere and in every culture, are born atheist. The vile perversion of religion has to be imposed on them. You're just another lying religionist with nothing but empty words to back up your elaborate and laughable fairy tale.
Actually, to be a Muslim you must recite the "shahada" with sincerity and in full knowledge of the meaning and import of what you are doing.
Hence babies are not born as Muslims, or as the Qu'ran puts it, "(2:160) Only those who repent and openly declare the truth do I turn to; for I am most merciful."
Where do these people get their ideas? I find the stupid really fascinating. About the faith thing: I (and the rest of the forum, I suppose) must have had a faith-ectomy along the way somewhere. So you can take it out again, isn't that good?
Isn't that what every religion says and believes?
They all say the same that "every child is born as Christian/Jewish/Muslim/Pagan/Hindu/Buddhist/Shinto/Mormon/etc.", and then say that people have chosen to turn their back on the diety of their religion, even the ones who have never heard of the religion the fundie believes in.
I wonder if this is the same Anwar Mady who appeared in the documentary about Gay Muslims? Oh, probably not, he's said to be 'father of four'. In that case, prove your claim by not teaching your kids about Islam, and let their god-given variety of the 'true faith' shine through.
Hey, this one sounds kind of familiar for some reason...
"No, everyone is born Christian. Only later in life do people choose to stray from Jesus and worship satan instead. Atheists have the greatest "cover" of all, they insist they believe in no god yet most polls done and the latest research indicates that they are actually a different sect of Muslims."

@#1069174: Because this person is so sanctimonious that he believes that everyone just HAS to belong to his religion, no matter what. Note that he didn't say: "every child is born as a theist" or "every child is born believing in God." No, he said that every child is born as a MUSLIM, indicating that his religion is superior and everybody else's religion is thus inferior, since unlike Islam, it's a choice.
wait, i've heard christians say that everyone is born christian. i tell you what, how about if the muslims and christians get together and fight over... shit, wait
Confused?
