If you are talking about those alien worshiping crackpots (forgot the name of that cult) that call themselves atheists because they don't believe in a God (not the scientologists but that kooky bunch of folks that believe in reptilians) that sounds about right but for the atheists that aren't batshit crazy, it's a whole different ballgame.
Be more specific, please.
"Lots of..." is inappropriate for people. Use "Many..." instead.

I don't see why it's impossible to reject evolution and be an atheist. I daresay such a position is uncommon in the US, though. What did atheistic Buddhists believe prior to the mid 19th century?
Arguing that ID, as a belief, is not religious might be possible. I'm disappointed I can't read the original post: I'd like to see a good example of that argument. ID *proponents* however, seem to be exclusively religiously motivated.
Yeah. The Raëlians. Except most atheists aren't Raëlians. I'd go so far as to wager that most atheists consider Raëlians to be stupid and/or delusional. I know I do.
Truth be told, I've come across other atheists before, but not a single atheist I've ever met has been a Raëlian. The only reason I know about Raëlians is because I've heard other people bring them up on the internet, wondered what the hack they were, and used Google to find out.
Raëlians are the exception to the rule. Nearly everybody who believes in creationism or "intelligent design" are religious. Those trying to get "intelligent design" or creationism into school certainly are.

In fact, if your type "Rael" into google, the first page that comes up is rael.org, and is summed up as such:

Denial of the fact that pseudoscientific creationist arguments are not science. But some atheists may really be part of their religion or church, they may be captive in it a while, for various reasons. Then science does not equal atheism, even if creationists commonly accuse society and science of atheism in their "worldy people" straw men. Knowledge is dangerous to irrational ideologies.
Some comments mentioned Raelians and it's an interesting question. Raelians however believe in magical technology, like soul cloning or preservation and transplant by supremely powerful beings (like the Jesus alien). Because biological cloning cannot copy/restore memories or personality, but they bank in on members wanting to preserve some of their DNA for cloning purposes. This means that it's not molecular duplication, the "soul" needs more traditional migration theological dogma. The anthropomorphic aliens they believe in would have technology so advanced that it's like angels and gods. They also have metaphysical beliefs and practice "spiritual" (and sexual) meditation rituals. In a way, it's similar to Buddhism with Greek-Christian mythology. Some say that Buddhism is non-theistic, some could argue that Raelism may also not be. It's also still a personality cult where the guru is like a Hindu godman and their sex meditation is inspired from tantrism. Confused new-age opportunistic syncretic nonsense. After various failed attempts to become wealthy, Vorillon finally hit the spot with a cult.
