Children in daycare?, what about the three ks, Kinder, Kirchen, Kuchen(kids, church and kitchen)?, or the fact that they signed a concordate with the Holy See?, AMONG OTHERS.
I know it is not a laughing matter, but I had to giggle at that. “Kuchen” means “cake” in German, the word for “kitchen” is “Küche”. (Amusingly the German word “Kittchen” is a word for “jail”
) No offense meant.
@Buzzardhut:
The other posters here already addressed your points, so just a few remarks from me:
Comparisons Between Life under Obama And Life Under Hitler
#1) Severe Economic Crisis
I grant you that, both started when the whole world was in a financial crisis. But Hitler’s solution was starting a war and financing it by seizing the property of “undesirables” and conquering other countries. I just don’t see Obama doing that.
#2) Election Of A Wildly Popular Leader
Hitler was appointed Reichskanzler (chancellor) without getting the majority of votes and then used his influence over Reichspräsident (president) von Hindenburg to get more power bypassing the democratic processes.
#3) An Obsession With Law & Order
I don’t even know what argument you are trying to make here, so I will skip it.
#4) Women Were Taught That Work Was More Important Than Family
As others already pointed out, you couldn’t be more wrong if your name was Wrongy “Failure” McWrong.
#5) Children Raised In Daycare Facilities
I don’t know about the Nazis’ particular stance on daycare, but I can tell you that children’s daycare has a long tradition in Germany, predating the Nazi movement by quite a few decades. And quite a few of these facilities were founded and run by the churches.
#6) Christianity Drubbed Out Of The Schools
Bullshit, even now you couldn’t get most Bavarian schools to take their crucifixes out of the classrooms, let alone in the 1930s.
#7) Socialized Healthcare
Germany had socialized healthcare (and other welfare programs like socialized retirement and unemployment insurances) since the 1800s, ironically installed by Bismarck, one of history’s biggest conservatives
#8) Government Handouts Became A Way Of Life
Hitler praised himself for ending unemployment in Germany.
#9) Oppressive Government Regulations
I’ll grant you that one. You are prone to get that in a fascist dictatorship. But again, I just do not see where Obama is doing something like that.
#10) Gun Restrictions
I would have to look that one up, but I would guess that even before 1933 there were severe gun regulations in place. Otherwise the street brawls between right and left wingers during the years of the Weimar Republic would have been even more bloody.
#11) Lack Of Respect For Life
You can hardly argue with that one it you think of the concentration and death camps, and the sometimes disastrous strategies used in the war. But on the other hand, as others already pointed out, abortion was illegal.
So, we can conclude that you know shit about Germany under Hitler and the few things you got correct have no connection to Obama. So what was the point of your post again?
