I don't understand atheists, I mean if they don't believe so what? Why do they have to make such an issue of it? Why do they care so much about whether anyone else believes? Why can't they just blow it off?

Funny, though...if a non-believer ever has the unmitigated gall to ask you those very same questions, you'd be among the quickest to cry "Persecution! Those nasty atheists are persecuting me and my fellow Christians!"
I don't understand fundamentalists, I mean if they believe so what? Why do they have to make such an issue of it? Why do they care so much about whether anyone else believes? Why can't they just blow it off?
It's just too easy to fix.
We can't blow it off, you assholes won't let us. You insist, despite overwhelming historical evidence to the contrary, that the U.S. is a "christian" nation, and then attempt to ram your bullshit into everyone else's life. I am all for the live and let live concept, but it has to be a two way street.
Other than that, though, you have no point.
Because it's important, that's why. Because after countless millennia of "spiritual" politics based on some "holy book" or another we're finally in a unique position that we're enlightened enough to move forward, collectively, as a species and build societies based on knowledge and reason rather than superstition. And you lot are standing on the brakes. Luckily you're a dying breed, but as long as you're still around we have to reign you in to at least avoid the more grim aspects of your cults.
I can't decide if this is a repeat or someone else saying the same thing (which is unfortunately highly likely).
Why do YOU have to make such an issue of it? Yes, it's YOU making the issue, not me. YOU keep trying to push me to believe what you want. YOU keep trying to push the government to make me practice your religion. THAT'S why we can't just blow it off.
I'm not sure whether this is pot calling the kettle black, or a justified reminder that NO ONE, atheists included, really needs to be proselytizing.
I only have a problem with your anti-science, your anti-secularism, and your shitty persecution complex. Not your beliefs. I can believe your beliefs are wrong all I want, the actions are more important.
“I don't understand atheists,”
My shocked face is showing, i swear it.
“I mean if they don't believe so what?”
So maybe we shouldn’t have to live by rules that only make sense to people who DO believe. Sunday closings, sunday alcohol sales, abortion bans, banning sex ed, banning contraception, banning IVF…
“Why do they have to make such an issue of it?”
Read Trump’s Project 2025 but make the rules reflect Islam.
“Why do they care so much about whether anyone else believes?”
We don’t.
We care that you legislate your beliefs.
“Why can't they just blow it off?”
Imagine if we tried to legislate, say, sharia law? Would you blow that off?
Confused?
