America needs Christian schools. Government should pay for private schools and homeschools as well, without regulation. State exams are fine if those are not atheistic in content. It's unfair only the atheistic and Sodomic public schools are getting support from the State. Who made atheism the state religion in the West? There is no neutrality in secularism; it's been only godlessness and atheism. Children need Christian morality for normality. You are a little inaccurate. The creators and fathers of the USA of all eras never imagined the nation would be this blasphemous, Anti-christian, immoral, and atheistic. Such possibility just never dawned on their mind. To them, being a decent human meant being Christian. Today's secular West is massively violating the Christrians, pushing blasphemy and Sodomy and infanticide. Christian education must be upheld in the West including the USA; the secular West has no other way to live or understand morality.

So muslim parents get government money to homeschool their children islamicly?
Grace Kim Kwon: THAT'S NOT WHAT I MEANT!!!!ELEVENTYONE
They are not private schools if the government funds them.
Spukikitty, clearly she does not have the money to send her kids to a private school.

So communism ?

France here, we're doing fine thanks. Please keep all the religious craziness (creation and climate denial) in your country and we'll do the same with our cheese.
Well, I went to state schools here in the UK: which has a state religion, the Church of England, yet I'm as Atheist as they come.
Explain, Grace Pickle Barrel Kumquat?
There are plenty of Christian schools out there. You want your precious little snowflake to grow up to be a godbot? That's fine with me, just don't require me to pay for it. Besides, aren't conservatives all about paying your own way and not sucking on the government teat? Or does that only apply when someone can't afford food?
Not such thing as a christian morality, you must mean christian obedience, a vice so terrible it ruins generations. Science is not neutral, it does tend to have a reality bias and it shows and the best part is: Don`t like it? Shit yourself with anger, it still won`t go away. Children must be allowed to question all authority, for it is healthy, it is through this very process they will eventually become full fledged, responsible adults, understanding their actions just as they understand those around them. Remember that authority based in reality and facts has nothing to fear from a challenger, only one based on sand and lies.
Grace, you have a slight problem with your idea there. It goes as follows.
U.S. Constitution: Amendment 1
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or
prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or
of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition
the Government for a redress of grievances.
Think about this: the founding fathers weren't so much against church interfering with government they were worried about government interfering with their churches.
What if the government decides to put the "wrong" Christianity into the schools? Do you see the problem with this now?
Secular=/=atheist.
That's all.
My country's government funds private religious schools, they then game the system in their favour by only admitting the smartest students, meanwhile the public schools are neglected, which results in them having poor exam results and more discipline problems. Our current minister of education (who used to run one of the private schools) wants to ban sex education and strip the public schools of some of their funding, claiming that they too much money is being spent on them.
So you care more about the indoctrination of children than their standard of education?
Why am I not surprised?
I live in a country with christianity as a state religion, with at least one of the public schools I went to having the teachers lead us in prayer, and reading the bible in assembly.
I'm a skeptical agnostic.
Mind you, I think they cared more about how well I did in english, history and math, so there is that.
It is not the school's place to cater to whatever spiritual ideas you have, especially in America.
Your government isn't supposed to favour any religion.
Unless you want a good dosage of other religions to take part, too.
Nope, you'd scream that the government is brainwashing the children, without experiencing an iota of self-awareness.
I agree with skidie. Which is truly moral? Obedience to an ancient isreali war god because your afraid he'll murder your ass on judgement day, or genuinely doing what's right because it feels good, and that's the way you would want to be treated.
So, you missed the point about state School and the first ammendment? Of course, not to sound racist, but I feel, judging your name, that English is not your mother tongue
"Government should pay for private schools and homeschools as well, without regulation."
Trust us, we're doing what we're supposed to be doing with the money you're giving us. No need to regulate or supervise that at all.
Sorry, no.
If you want money from the bad ol' gubmint for your derpcademies, they get a say in how you spend it. It's taxpayer money. You want Dominionist madrassas, you get to pay for them.
That's leaving aside the issue of the separation of church and state entirely, since it's obvious you don't understand it and wouldn't care even if you did.
Please look up the first ammendment of the US constitution, which explicitly says the US gouvernment can't take sides in religious questions. This means a Muslim would have just as much right to demand that the gouvernment should pay for his islamic private school/homeschool and uphelding islamic education as you have to demand christian private schools/homeschool's and christean education. Now rethink your post again, with this in mind.
