If women are to be wives and mothers first, then men should be husbands and fathers first. They must be helpmeets to their spouses and Godly fathers to their children.
But this does not seem that interesting at all. If you have children, they are naturally the most important people in your life. They, and the person you share them with, are the people you think first of and plan your life around. So what? This is how society works, whether it's Christian or not. (And whether you are married to someone of the same or the opposite gender, of course.)
