On the gay issue. As I travel this country I see that almost half the so called educated men of this country under the age of 30 call them selves "metrosexuals". Now there is a lot of discussion on what that means and after meeting thousands of so called MS's here what I find they all have in common; they are gay men who either are too afraid to try sex with a dude or who's mother, wife or girl friend will not let them. Most are Opra deciples and spend twice as much time on the computer as they do outside.

Um, let's see...
Uh...
WRONG!!!
You're conclusion is based on stupidity and stereotypes. If they want to have sex, their mothers are not going to stop them(no more than the fathers and society), and, if they're not attracted to women, they'll have no girlfriend or wife, to begin with. Moreover, they're not going to go public about their sexuality and later on to conceal it.

"........either are too afraid to try sex with a guy.........". If they're so afraid, why feeling attracted to them, to begin with?, are they going to grow horns or have spots in their faces?
I spend twice as much time on one computer or another as I do outside. This hasn't warped my sexuality any, but I do have to fight against the onset of obesity.
Who the hell coined the term "metrosexual," and has anyone actually claimed that title for themselves? The first time I heard it was in the '04 elections, when Mallard Fillmore (ptui!) kept smearing anyone left of Himmler with it, regardless of the fact that if you're going to appear on TV you've got to give some attention to your appearance.
Gasp! An educated man who wants to look good, yet is not gay! Scandal! I am sure most women would much prefer a stupid man who looks like crap.
-headdesk-
Also...does he mean Oprah the person or Opera the musical genre?
@chan: British journalist Mark Simpson, who coined it in the mid-90's to apply to soccer star Dave Beckham. Most people nowadays wouldn't use the term on themselves, though they're quick to spot it in others ;-)

Judging by the computer line right after that, I assumed Opera the web browser.
Real men use Firefox.
Doctor Whom
Nice! That was my first thought too!
jf23: (is that a name or a motorcylce license plate) Why the hell are you so obsessed with gay or potentially gay or bi people? NOw my impression is that teh gayz wouldn't bother you quite so much if you would just stop fixating on homosexuals.
Metrosexual is a fashion trend, in which a straight guy uses the gay stereotype to get women (nominally). I've never known ANYone to refer to themselves with that label.
I live in NYC, the city with the second-largest 'gay district' in the US. As we do not have huge amounts of people claiming to be 'metrosexual', I am led to believe you made that "almost half" bit up.
Also, your stereotypes are ignorant and made of fail.
GTFO the internet.
My Housemate is a Metrosexual - he dresses well, is always clean shaven, keeps his fingernails well trimmed and looks after himself by eating well and going to the gym a few times a week. (don't tell anyone else but I might be one too).
Oh and the reason he does all this...for the ladies. Ladies like a man who knows how to look after himself...or so they have told us.
By "you don't deserve that much effort," the anonymous cowardly little boy really means "I'm too scared to post anything intelligent, and I have to get my posts in quick before my mommy catches me on her computer."
You'd think the kid would have something better to do than post the same stupid crap over and over again on a site where everybody laughs at him.
TeabagSalad:
A metrosexual isn't just a guy who dresses well and gets manicures & such; it's whether you intentionally mirror the gay stereotype (a la "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy"). Most metrosexuals use the look to attract women.
One of these days, I'll do a "You might be a ___ if" series about fashion trends; 'metro' will be at the top of the list.
"As I travel this country I see that almost half the so called educated men of this country under the age of 30 . . . . spend twice as much time on the computer as they do outside[, where I would see them]."
A population which is observable only one-third of their waking time, documented by person who stays briefly in any given place, and the rate of occurrence in their demographic at such a random sampling is almost 50%? Sounds to me like our friend has grossly underestimated how many there are. Somebody should do the right thing and warn him!
One day all the dirty homosexuals and unbelievers and self-important little assholes making websites like this one will all be burning in hell. I like that.
And with your sadistic, holier-than-thou attitude, you'll be joining them in the lake. I like that.
The funny thing is, if they feel attracted to men, why having a wife, girlfriend who wouldn't allow them?. And do you think that there was some point in history in which men, heterosexual or not, could be "forbidden" by their mothers to do something?. Ridiculous.
For the umpteenth time, the term "metrosexual" has nothing to do with a guy's sexuality. I don't even know why the suffix "-sexual" is in that word to begin with; it's utterly misleading.
Metrosexual is a term used to describe men who are well-dressed, well-groomed, and fashionable. That's it. If anything, you could say that most aristocrats and upper-class men are metrosexuals by the way they dress and groom themselves. It's not because they're gay (most of them aren't). It's because they're either trying to appeal to women or they're trying to appeal to the mirror. They dress well for women or themselves, you ignorant twit, not for other men.
But of course, if a man is articulate and well-dressed, and doesn't sit in front of a T.V. chugging beer all day while wearing ripped jeans and a wife-beater, he must be gay in your book. *sighs*
Confused?
