You're right. It's very difficult to explain the evidence to a brainwashed population. When you spend your life believing in something because your parents told you it was so and that belief gives you a sense of hope for a better tomorrow that you do not know how to get from other sources because you were not taught how, you're most likely to cover your ears to anything you deem a threat. Or in the case of creation "science," cover your ears while screaming "Na-na-na-na-na!"

Thats true. Evolutionists, to use the term, have a hard time presenting evidence against YEC to fundies (adovates of scripture) - much in the same way that family members have a hard time convincing an alcoholic that he has a drinking problem. Denial is a powerful defence mechanism.

Um, no, he hasn't. Are we talking Carl Sagan? He probably have a whole range of scientific evidence for evolution and against the biblical creation story.
