So why is the universe then. Big bang doesn't cut it either. If you quote thermodynamics you still have to explain where the tiny little particle that exploded into the universe came to be. Please tell me, if not God then what?

Not a partical. Everything that was the previous universe something like our current one, in a very tiny dense violatal space.
The argument that the universe has always existed has always been valid.
The universe is just never in the same form or state, we're moving to this day, suns die, some explode, suns are born, galaxies are colliding, black holes are eating all of the above.
Same as it ever was
The universe didn't explode, that's a myth. It was very hot and dense, and it extended all at once.
You have to understand that the big bang didn't happen someplace in the universe : all that exists was into that tiny bit, there was nothing else, so there was no elsewhere. Also, time didn't exist before the big bang, so there was no before (time is a consequence of the expansion of the universe, a temporal dimension)

Try M-theory.
Just be warned that, unlike evolution, this really is "only just a theory". However it is much more internally consistent than your God hypothesis.
So we're at the point where we can just deny other people to answer what they want to? Okay, then.
How did the universe come about? Don't mention God.
“So why is the universe then.”
The universe is. That’s sufficient for science.
How the universe came to be is science. There is evidence we can use.
Why is the universe? IF there is a why, that’s not really part of the science. Religion is quick to supply the why, but there’s no real reason to believe any of them know the right answer.
“Big bang doesn't cut it either.”
Why not?
What evidence do you have that the Big Bang Theory doesn’t actually cover?
Or do you just not like that as an answer?
“If you quote thermodynamics you still have to explain where the tiny little particle that exploded into the universe came to be.”
No, really don’t HAVE to.
We’d like to. We may not ever be able to, though.
Like, CSI can solve many murders, but there are some that there just isn’t enough information available for a solution.
A pity, but that’s how science works.
Religion cannot STAND not having an answer, so they’re willing to make shit up.
“Please tell me, if not God then what?”
I don’t believe in ANY of the gods. You do. YOU need to show why god.
Confused?
