I know that when I tell people that I am waiting until marriage to have sex they all look at me like I have boogers coming out of my nose.
It's a sad, sad world.

I can tell whenever my nose is running because people look at me like I'm waiting for marriage to have sex.
What I'm really waiting for is consent, and a girl who isn't just a customer of my free tech support service.
Interestingly enough, this comes from a thread mentioning "Reasons You Shouldn't Continue Dating a Man." Among the things listed is "If he waits until after the wedding to have sex with you...there might be something wrong with him."
I'm assuming "wrong" means "gay," (the list was supposedly created by Donald Trump , of all people) but they are all assuming it means "he just wants to test drive you! Pre-marital sex is wrong!"
Personally, if I was in a relationship with a closeted gay man (I'm a straight female) I'd like to know before the wedding-regardless of the circumstances (i.e., whether we'd yet had sex or not.)
Well, this can be called a "fundie". Refusing sex because the god tells her not to and letting all that sweet sexual pressure build up inside just because the God almighty would probably hit the lightning rod of the partner in anger if she touched it before marriage.
Come on, sex is normal. There is no need to hold out until you're married. Not giving any because you don't like the guy or don't feel like it or having a headache or waiting for that special someone is ok. But not giving any because God would be so mad if you had sex... is wierd.
This could be for a number of reasons:
1: You say it to total strangers on the bus or sidewalks.
2: You say it along with "All you NON virgins are going to burn in hell, and I will LAUGH at you ALL!
2: You say it out loud to yourself when grocery shopping.
Abstinence =/= fundie
I myself am planning on waiting till marriage, not for religious reasons, but for a myriad of personal ones. Just because I'm a virgin doesn't mean I'm frigid or I "can't get any." Though I do consider my abstinence rather private and don't go announcing it to the world or saying people who have pre-marital sex go to hell, it's a personal choice.
Oh, ChristiRenee, I like your description, very.... unsanitary.
Remaining a virgin until marriage is an entirely personal choice and most people in the world don't really care what personal choices you make.
It's when you walk around advertising it, implying you are morally superior to others making different choices, that the boogers start flying.
My sex life is none of your business, just as yours is none of mine.
ChristiRenee: "I am waiting till my wedding night to have sex, unlike you godless promiscous heathens! MY vagina is in a wonderful, pure and virginal state, unlike yours which is a shameful cave of Satan!"
*A cold, heavy silence descends upon the room and everyone gives Christi the stink-eye*
ChristiRenee: "Why are you looking at me like that?" *cries*
Aww, Little Fundie, don't despair. I'm sure some day your dad will find a nice virgin fundie boy with boogers coming out of his nose too, so you can get married and have procreative sex whenever the Holy Spirit commands it.
Then, you can despair.
Maybe you do have boogers coming out of your nose. BTW, you've probably never had a date, and I guarantee that the first guy who puts his hands on your tits, you'll spread your legs for him and let him peg you.

Ouch, dude :)
I agree, it's not fundie to place restrictions on yourself. It is, however, fundie to go around telling everybody else that's what they need to do.
>Personally, if I was in a relationship with a closeted gay man (I'm a straight female) I'd like to know before the wedding-regardless of the circumstances (i.e., whether we'd yet had sex or not.)
So would I have done. Shame the fundies had convinced my husband that obeying jebus, keeping quiet about it, and getting married would magically make him straight. And then he guilt-trips me with the "divorce is a sin" line...
Well this isn't very fundie. I mean, she probably is, since she's posting at Rapture Ready, but this quote... meh.
I've sort of followed ChristiRenee. Although this remark really isn't that fundie, her search for a husband has been fun to watch.
She's basically a female stalker. She can't (or won't) do anything for herself. Any man that does anything helpful for her is a potential mate.
She's entertainment, I'll give her that.
No actually, you have a booger right... there.
I am waiting until marriage to have sex too, but I don't get funny looks. Of course I don't randomly announce this to slight aquaintances, total strangers, my dentist and the bus driver either.
(And just for the record - I am 22 years old and had proper (i.e. not abstinence only) sex education at school, and am currently seeing someone (who is also waiting).)
It's not fundie... but, as she continues to say she intends to wait until her wedding day for her first kiss, I highly doubt she'll ever get married. *sigh* I feel bad for her to be honest... (Not that I'm overly fussed about marriage at my age... but a proper relationship, yes!)
athiestpenguin : I hope you are both doing okay now...
Wow, thanks guys! I'm not the only vigin on this thread! Not for religious reasons, but personal ones...at this point, I've waited so long for the right person, who wanted me and not just sex, that I probably will end up waiting for the man I marry!
I'm sorry, TMI, I know...but at least I know it's not just me anymore! :)
Why is fstdt allowing so many non-fundie posts as of late? This isn't fundie, it's not funny, it's just a person commenting on how other people can judgemental. Sure it's from a site known for its fundie population, but that that alone doesn't make it a fundie statement.
A fundie saying "I like to drink wine with dinner" does not make wine, or dinner, fundie.
Well I hope your mate is ready for one night of lousy ackward sex on your honeymoon.
On a side note, there's nothing wrong with wanting to save yourself for that special someone but to project that onto others is not the thing to do.
I gotta wonder, is the conversation:
“Hey, we got twenty minutes until the movie starts, wanna have sex?”
“I’m saving my virginity for marriage.”
“That’s cool.” (Booger look)
Or is it:
“Hey, I’m going to the soda machine, want anything?”
“I’m saving my virginity for marriage.”
“That’s… um…. Not what i asked...” (Booger look)
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
