Atheists always love to call everyone else stupid but it their own irrational religion that is stupid.

The laws of thermodynamics are very clear that the universe could not have produced itself. Feel free to reject science if you wish.

You claim future science will prove the universe could produce itself out of absolute nothing without a cause. You are entitled to your faith. But curent science is on the side of thesim and and shows atheism to be irrational.

The atheists up till 1992 who claimed the universe is eternal were certainly proven wrong and the theistic position that the univese had a beginning was proven correct.

Atheism isn't a religion, jackass.

As I understand it, the thermodynamic laws--and all other laws--didn't exist prior to the big bang nor for an infinitely small period of time afterward. If the law didn't exist, it's hard to violate it.

Not nothing; a singularity. It's also not without cause, though the cause believed to have triggered it is both speculative and highly technical.

Science doesn't work with faith. Faulty evidence and poor reasoning on occasion can make it appear so when you look back on it, but nothing is taken on faith.

Since science says jack shit about the existence, or non-existence, of deities I'm pretty sure science is staying out of it all together.

One thing about the atheists religion is that there are so many different sects. Each sect with its own views and opinions which are most likely totally unique. Take my atheist sect as an example, it has only one congregation and that congregation only has one member. Me. And my sect seems to be a typical representative of the atheist religion in general. I do know that in the USA there are millions of atheist congregations each consisting of only one non-worshiper.

I can show how my sect operates. A typical day begins with the non-saying of a morning prayer followed by a piss. Then, later, again the non-saying of a prayer over breakfast. Sunday mornings are somewhat different in that certain ritual observances are made, to wit, a period on Sunday morning lasting a couple of hours completely filled with the non-worshipping of, well, nothing.

Although she is in a different atheist religious sect to me, my wife's daily religious observances are fairly similar to my own, but, if anything, her non-praying is perhaps a touch more intense than mine.

Of course, a big difference in the USA between atheist religious sects and, for example, fundamentalist sects, seems to be a question of taxation. And, worldwide, there is less of a requirement for the atheist religions to openly practice hatred and bigotry and Mammon worship. Plus, most atheist sects don't practice the extorting of money from their congregation, usually consisting of only one non-worshiper in any case.

All in all I'm happy with my atheist religion and sleep soundly each night knowing that I'm impervious to being converted to another religion.

Sigh... So much fail.

It looks like the rest of you have done a good job so I'll just add that the laws of thermodynamics didn't apply to the universe before the big bang and certainly don't add any credence to claims of a magical origin.

Plus, while it's true that a steady state universe is inconsistent with our observations, there is a school of thought that says universes are cyclical. Big bang followed by big crunch in perpetuity.

Another possibility is a number of gravitationally bound universes, like a box full of balloons, where some are expanding and others are contracting. The contracting ones eventually reach a state where all matter/energy is forced into a singularity which then expands resulting in a new universe.

Tell me about it. Since I started my Atheist Church of Global Warmings, Abortion and Gay Sex a few months ago no one has joined me for even one of the 2:32 a.m. Thursday services. Well, no one except for my dogs and cat. But since they're there all the time anyway, and have shown no interest in the activities, I don't really count them.
Will this effect my tax-exempt status as a church with the IRS?

Ah. You think the ‘big bang’ theory is ‘from nothing.’
Okay, let’s go with that.
The second law of thermodynamics was created by observing the interactions of mass and energy inside our universe. Do you have any reason to justify applying that law outside of the universe? What experience do you have of universes being created to justify that claim?

Okay, no one makes that claim. That’s why you attacking that claim makes you appear stupid, justifying calling you, and everyone else who misunderstand the theory, stupid.

Science is naturalistic. It’s secular. It’s not on the side of theism OR atheism, but neutral on that question. So, no, it’s not on the side of theism.

Pretty sure the math indicated that the universe IN IT’S CURRENT FORM only goes back 13 billion years. That’s when time started, so there’s no ‘before that’ to discuss.
