What is the difference between an Atheist, Agnostic and a Satanist?
____________________________________________________________________________
Atheist - there is no God (contradictory)
Agnostic - doesn't know or doesn't care (fair enough)
Satanist - "I am god." (stupid)

"I am a student of theology and philosophy")

Atheist - Not Contradictory, take a look at your own bible.
Agnostic - They don't care, but they usually don't believe in any of these Gods today are the right one.
Satanist - I find them cool, they actually admit their religion is for show, but they treat people better than Christianity...actually all religions treat everyone better than Christianity.
Atheism is difficult consept.. or so it seems because so many fundies have hard time understanding that some people just dont believe that any god/goddess/gods exist.
And when it comes to amount of gods, atheists and christians are almost alike, since christians don't believe in 99,9999% of the deities (that some other people believe in) exist either.
By 'contradictory' do you mean "Without God, there would be no athiest lololol"?
Try "without [the idea of] God, there would be no [explicit] atheists [though everyone would be an implicit atheist]".
Muppet.
A student of theology and philosophy, huh?
Your professor would be disappointed to see this.
Unless your professor is your mother.
Perhaps "contradictory" is in reference to the rhetorical question that has been showing up recently in quotes on this site - if atheists don't believe in god, why do they feel the need to oppose him so much? To this way of thinking, an atheist is a contradiction; if god didn't exist as atheism claims, there wouldn't need to be atheists to rail against him. Apparently atheists only exist to rebel against god. Therefore, god exists because atheists also exist. Oh, and we're all going to hell, etc...
The problem with this argument, of course, is that we're really fighting against religious people, not their imaginary sky-daddy. Fighting an imaginary entity is useless and a waste of time, but the fundies have a real problem understanding that bit.
Atheist - there is no God (contradictory)
Contradictory? To what? Your beliefs? Aren't the other two? What the hell?
Agnostic - doesn't know or doesn't care (fair enough)
Fair enough? Really? So that level of faithlessness is acceptable by the christians?
Satanist - "I am god." (stupid)
Satanists don't go around saying "I am god" you dunce, they worship Satan. That's why they're called SATANists, get it?
"Atheist - there is no God (contradictory)"
What is contradictory about atheism? I've heard many fundies claim that atheism is "contradictory," but without exception they fail to explain how they reached their conclusions. You can't prove your arguments by name-calling and belittling those with whom you disagree.
"Satanist - "I am god." (stupid)"
Satanists do not believe themselves to be gods. But in any case, why is believing oneself to be a god any more "stupid" than believing, as you probably do, that the earth is 5,000 years old?

If you're telling the truth (which I very much doubt), then you and/or your family should demand a refund from your college because they're doing a piss-poor job of educating you.
I dislike strict atheism because it's as absolute as any fundamentalist form of thinking. Absolute statements make little sense to me outside a pragmatic outlook.
That still doesn't make it contradictory, and I don't even know in what sense you mean it.
Agnosticism I like because it's honest. Whether there is or isn't a supreme creative force, personal or otherwise, it doesn't seem we know the answer and we shouldn't be so presumptuous as to claim we do.
Satanists are many and varied. LaVey's Satanism isn't THE Satanism, and that's the one it seems was referred to here (they "worship" the ego, and Satan is only a symbol of rebellion and independence). Either that, or he's referring to the Christian outlook on Satanism as I understand it.
Either way, doesn't bother me much - it's either ludicrous or an excellent (and damn amusing) pragmatic tool. Or objectively true, but I'm not counting on it :P
Atheist - not constrained by belief in the non-existant.
Agnostic - maybe something there, but too much contradictory bullshit and too many "one-true" gods (6718)
Satanist - one who has turned against christianity because of the savagery imposed during conversion, only to recieve more of the same for the rest of his/her life as a "test".
And one deliberately left of the list..
Believer - one who ridicules, cajoles, tortures, defames and kills in order to belittle those who believe otherwise.
How is being an atheist contradictory?
As an agnostic, I guess I should be happy that you're "fair enough" regarding my position.
Confused?
