I hope Palin and Huckabee type religion/politics is imported into U.K.
At last an import to give us hope that our way of life could be preserved for our grandchildren.

Elf can fuck off... first, that kind of politics/religion has NEVER been part of the British way of life...
Second, since your name is a slight mis-spell of a bigotted, racist old fuck from a sitcom back in the 80's (alf garnett, for those interested) I'm leaning towards you being a poe... or a fucking retard.
That's one US import we don't need.
Wouldn't work over here anyway. If you spout religious crap, you can kiss most potential votes goodbye.
As soon as Halon and Fuckabee set foot on UK soil, they will probably be shot, stuffed and mounted. (not necessarily in that order)
Anyhow, the UK doesn't allow the import of contaminated meat.
They have something us Americans will never have - History.
@Michael,
The Americans have an enormous amount of history. Unfortunately, very, very few of them are aware of anything further back than Columbus and even after that it is still somewhat hazy.
Blair and Brown were religious enough, but they were never stupid enough to push their religion on to others. That would be a surefire way to become unelectable.
Just how is Palin/Huckabee type religion/politics going to improve the way of life in the USA? Isn't Palin's schtick confrontation? Doesn't she welcome the coming Rapture? And how is Huckabee relevant any more?
So many questions, so many stupid answers.

Extreme religious views will probably never gain a foothold in UK Politics because it is part of the national conciousness to shy away from extremism. Possibly down to a knowledge of the terrible consequences such extremism has had in the past (The reformation, the gunpowder plot, persecution of Catholics and protestants etc.)
The fact that they just typed "religion/politics" as one thing is chilling.
And I'd like the world for my theoretical grandchildren to be *better* than the world is today, even if it means sacrificing "our way of life." (It'll be them living, and it wouldn't be their way of life, so who cares?)
Let's reverse-engineer that statement. Would you really want to be living the life that your grandparents did? Now consider if your grandparents and their ancestors suffered prejudice toward their immigrant group, or religious persecution, or a life working full time in the mills from the age of ten, or transportation to Australia on a prison ship for petty theft ...how much of that legacy would you choose to undergo?
Confused?
