The Genographic Project has not only proven common ancestry for all humans, it has also showed how people can change (keyword: EVOLVE) according to the environment they move into. This project has the biggest database of human genetic records in the world, and perfectly illustrates Darwin's theory of natural selection within a species, us.
As for the fossil records, have you ever been to the Grand Canyons, or to Canada's Alberta province? Thought so.

There are hundreds of books and peer-reviewed papers providing evidence. Saying they don't exist (or alternatively, "I don't personally accept them") doesn't make it true. I defy any creationist to offer an argument that isn't:
(a) An argument from personal incredulity: I don't personally see how evolution could be true, therefore it isn't,
(b) An argument from ignorance: You can't answer question ________ (fill in the blank), therefore, the whole theory is wrong, or
(c) A "God of the Gaps" argument: we don't know what caused ________ (fill in the blank), therefore, God did it.
So, atheists are about 3-4% of the population. They'd be going up against one of the most solid voting blocks in history (the christian right), but they managed to get their agenda into law in a democratic state?

When you show me fossil records showing all species appearing at the same time, then carrying on until today (with extinctions), from 6000 years ago, I'll believe in creationism.
