[In response to "How did these bible people live to be hundreds of years old?"]
People lived that old because our world was much different back then. There was more oxygen and there was a layer of water that surrounded the Earth which caused more pressure. It is amazing how Science is proving the Bible to be correct.

A layer of water? Whafuck?
It is amazing when science proves the bible to be correct. Let me know when it actually happens.
Also, you are a fucking idiot.
Now I ain't no biologist, nor a doctor, but if making people live longer was a simple matter of giving them more oxygen at a higher pressure, we could do that.
We can do that, so why don't people live to be hundreds of years old now?
People lived that old because our world was much different back then.
Your half right, the world was much different a long time ago.
There was more oxygen and there was a layer of water that surrounded the Earth which caused more pressure.
That layer of water would have magnified heat and pressure to the point on sterilizing the surface of the planet, people woudn't live to be very old because people wouldn't live at all.
It is amazing how Science is proving the Bible to be correct
I'll bet you people just line up to suck the cream of stupid from Kent Hovind's cock, don't you?
When has science proved the earth had more oxygen 6,000 years ago or that more oxygen would make people live longer?
Under normal conditions, our blood leaves our lungs about 98% oxygenated. There's no reason why more oxygen in the atmosphere would make our blood have any more oxygen in it. See also Oxygen Toxicity for a discussion of the side-effects of breathing oxygen at higher than normal concentrations.
A layer of water around the Earth that increases pressure is not only ridiculously imfeasible, but it would also have tremendous implications on the amount of sunlight we would receive, the amount of heat that could escape the planet's atmosphere, and would pretty much screw us over, not make us live longer. Besides, more oxygen doesn't matter because we can only get so much of it into our bloodstream at any given time.
Jeez. The fact that you call this daft speculation "science" disgusts me.
"People lived that old because our world was much different back then."
Evidence, please. Everything we've collected so far say the Earth was quite similar to what it is now. More oxygen or higher and lower temperatures now and again but overall it wasn't much different that what we have today. Unless by "back then" you mean 3.4 to 4.6 billion years ago.
"There was more oxygen and there was a layer of water that surrounded the Earth which caused more pressure."
More oxygen, yes. A few hundred million years ago, not six thousand. There was not at any point in time a "layer of water" (i.e. Water Vapor Canopy bullshit) just sitting over the Earth. No, it wasn't "ice" either so don't try that bullshit.
"It is amazing how Science is proving the Bible to be correct."
I think you mean it would be amazing if science proved the Bible correct.
If you don't even know what science is, why do you claim it agrees with you?
I thought that the Bible said that God surrounded the Earth with water in order to kill off everybody except Noah and his family. It is amazing how logic is proving you to be wrong.
This is bottom of the barrel Creationism. Look around and you'll find plenty of Creationist assertions about the "vapor canopy".
It's pure fantasy, of course, but you don't need citations or research or even reality in Fundie-Land.
There are few environments I would rather not live in than high pressure O2, the resaon? Well, thats quite hard to explain to someone who has no understading of science, but if you think back to the high school chemistry lessons that you didn't spen hiding in the tiolets incase the biology teacher from nextdoor came and lynched you for your crap essay "evilution fact of fiction" then you may remeber that O2 at 1 atm can relight a glowing split, so pressurised by an 'ice shield': can you say 'firestorm'?
And then the water layer fell down and caused the great flood, right?
And also caused all life on the planet to explode. Well done numbnuts.
They didn't.
Next question.
Ah, the good ol' Kent Hovind/Jack Chick "vapor canopy" hypothesis.
There's a Chick tract "explaining" that the lower oxygen levels after the Flood made dinosaurs tire out more quickly, thus allowing human hunters to hunt them to extinction.
If we're now claiming that higher oxygen levels and higher air pressure permit someone to live longer, we need look no farther than the life spans of deep-sea divers for confirmation....
Gotta bit of a typo in there. Instead of "It is amazing how Science is proving the Bible to be correct" it should read, "It is amazing how science contiually proves the bible incorrect."
However, if I am wrong (and I am never wrong) and science DOES prove the bible correct....citation needed ASAP.
"It is amazing how Science is proving the Bible to be correct. "
I'm sorry, I missed that last part due to this desk smacking me in the face.
A layer of water? Like, Noah's flood?
It can't be though, that killed everyone but Noah's family.
One, more oxygen isn't synonym of living better. Second, the levels of oxygen had been constant for the last 100,000 years. Learn real science.
“There was more oxygen and there was a layer of water that surrounded the Earth which caused more pressure.”
Oxygen dissolves in water.
If there was a layer of water applying pressure to the atmosphere, the oxygen would filter INTO THE WATER. Any fish flying around the world at suborbital altitude would really benefit from that layer sucking all the O2 out of the air, but we’d have LESS O2 down here.
It’s so clear that you idiots have NO FUCKING IDEA what you’re talking about, but someone, somewhere, said it worked and you repeat it ad nauseum. Because the big story just HAS to be true, somehow, even if you have to lie about it to make it true.
Confused?
