Russia wouldn't 'go after' Israel, because Israel has NOTHING that Russia (or indeed, any other country in the world that isn't populated by religious nuts) actually wants.

How exactly could Russia take out NATO or even the U.S. on its own? We have the larger, better army, and a much larger population. If they use nukes, then NATOs nukes destroy Russia. Have you ever heard of MAD?

Russia, taking out the US?
Hahah... that is rather amusing. Russia is a non-threat to us. They don't have the military might to fight CANADA toe-to-toe, let alone the US, which constitutes about 50% of the entire world's military budget. The only reason we're having trouble in Iraq is because we're fighting "terrorists" instead of an organized military force. The only military that could fight us to a standstill would be China's, and that's only through sheer weight of numbers. Our tanks and planes may each be worth 10 of theirs, but they always have #11 nearby.
If Russia was still a communist country than maybe they could take out America. But since communism raped their economy they abandoned it and they are no longer a military superpower.
Now why the Hell would Russia attack Israel? It's a barron desert wasteland full of religious nuts. If they had any useful natural resources and strategic value than maybe they'd invade. But since they don't, you're fucking stupid.
How does every single war become an imminent apocalypse? And how do you reason that Russia has the power to so plainly and easily "take out America"? And why did Russia immediately go after Israel afterwards?! And how did God get fooled into handing the world over to Europe?! And why is the US named by you America, but the European Union comes out of you sounding like some New World Order, completely forgetting China's position as potential super power, with a population of 1-fucking-billion and a fast-growing economy?!?!?!

Do you RR idiots realize that if Russia were to try to take out America that they would in turn be taken out? Mutual Assured Destruction is just as sound a doctrine now as it was in the cold war.

And why exactly would Russia go after Israel? Israel has no mineral resources, hell they have to steal the water from occupied palestine. Israel has no strategic value to Russia, in short Israel is just a useless patch of desert. And what of all the other countries inbetween Russia and Israel? do you think they'll just let the Russian army roll through they're borders on the way to Israel? Somehow I doubt it...

And what about China? China is already an economic superpower, China already has nuclear weapons, and China has the largest standing army on the planet. What about the fact that the EU is not single monolithic state, but a collection of countries with widely varrying goals and motives? What about the fact that the EU does not have a integrated standing army with which to make war with?

Now *that* is a great heaping pile of bullshit!
And if you could do me a favor while you're looking at that map, note that we're only about 50 by 300 miles in size. A fucking dot on the globe. Some people like forgetting that one way too often, as they go about alluding us to some insane continent-spanning empire, so I thought I'd point that out while I'm at it.
Regarding strategic value, holding Jerusalem hostage can be a serious bargaining tool for anyone insane enough to pull it off. They're most likely, however, to only invoke the ire of half the world's population, so I doubt they'd find it worth the effort.
Uh, no. If a full-scale nuclear exchange took place both the US and Russia (along with the EU countries that are members of NATO, inc. Britain, France, Germany etc), would be pretty much wiped out. The Chinese would inherit the Earth (well, they would be far and away the biggest remaining power).
That's why fighting Russia would be a very bad idea. (Don't underestimate the Russians, they still have plenty of nukes, enough to comfortably wipe out Western civilisation). Fortunately, I don't think even Bush is that crazy. Neither is Putin. The only people who would be crazy enough to hit the mutual annihilation button would be religious extremists of one ilk or another.
I know a lot of people criticised the Russian policy in Georgia, but "the Russian leadership masterminding the rise of the antichrist" is just not reasonable.
If America and Israel are so awesome, why doesn't god protect them from the filthy Comm...er..I mean Russkies?
The EU is not a state and therefore cannot be a 'superpower' by definition. The EU in itself doesn't have a military or nukes, etc, how can it be a superpower?
