Know what? I don't care anymore. You can take your heresy and shove it up your self-righteous ***. I don't even care if you're right. Church tradition is perfectly clear that hell exists and immediate judgment occurs. If it's wrong, we're all screwed anyways, so whatever.

It would seem that an atheist could be defined as one who can look into the black, freezing void of infinity without flinching or running back to comforting fairy-tales like this guy.

Or perhaps it's wrong and universalists like myself are right, in which case, no-one's screwed unless you consider going to Heaven to be 'screwed'.

I'm flinching big-time here. I also wonder if perhaps I could somehow lie to myself at night to comfort me. Could that be dangerous (in a mental-health sense)?
what the frell is up with Game FAQs having a religion board?
Well, they have a variety of boards in addition to the video games boards: a metric fuckton of social boards and a shitload of hobbies boards: TV series, comics, anime, martial arts, pro wrestling, photography, photoshop, history, politics, news,... It was pretty much unavoidable that a religion board would get requested, and I suspect its creation was also intended to quarantine the subject to one board.

Avoid the self-deceit road. That's a path back to religious entrapment.
For me the solution was to focus on living in the now. The past is finished. The futures only a concept. Here and now is what we have to work with.
That's the philosophy I use. Consideration of it leads to some quite complex morals (though they can be summed up as "if you pee in the pool it gets as much on you as on everyone else") and lifestyle choices, but it works for me.
Adrian, somehow the word "fuckton" always makes me think it should refer to a new subatomic particle rather than a unit of measurement. ;-)
For me it's the word "moron" that has that effect ^^ It sounds like a particle or like measurement unit for stupidity.
So, I don´t matter if you´re right, I have interest to protect and we´re all in the same leaky boat, so do something that allows me personally to be saved. Approximate translation.
Good thinking, EM. Church tradition has an unfailing track record of being true, doesn't it?
The question isn't really if we're all screwed after death. Dead is dead. The question is, will you be screwed in the here and now, wasting your one life cowtowing to ridiculous Xian dogma and other church traditions?
If the "fire 'n brimstone" Christian hell is wrong, and the Zoroastrians are right, then we're REALLY screwed.
I agree with Pascal's Tantrum.
Edit: To Napoleon; that award could be better placed elsewhere, I'm sure, with a real hellfire speech.
Wait, wait... if Hell doesn't exist, we're screwed?
How...
Wha...
This guy wants to go to Hell ! Not sending this guy to Hell makes him feel like he's been cheated. He said so himself!
I remember this comment vaguely, he was talking about how there's no way the Rapture is even remotely possible. This is somewhat out of context.
Also, he says he was drunk.

Well, that's how I see it, too;
Damned if ya do/damned if ya don't, so Partay On!
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
