Any future that doesn't include my God - specifically Jesus of Nazareth, the creator of the universe which you put your little space ships in - is not a future I want to be part of. And there can be no future without God. The illogical argument that man is too wise and advanced to believe in the primative concept of a God is logically refuted by the biblical argument to the contrary: "Declaring themselves to be wise, they became fools; for the fool hath said in his heart, 'There is no God.'"

Sorry, hmghosthost, but "logically" and "Biblical argument" are, and ever have been, mutually exclusive.
Besides, the fool may say in his heart, "There is no God", but the wise person shouts it from the rooftops.

god or no god, the space-time continuum has been long since let out of the bag. As long as there is matter and motion there will be time; as long as there is time, there will be a future.
"Declaring themselves to be wise, they became fools; for the fool hath said in his heart, 'There is no God.'"
Well well well, looky dat. This is the origin of the fundie premise that ignorance is wisdom.

No it's not. That's an example of the "appeal to authority" fallacy.

"Captain's Log Year of our Lord 2266: Mr. Sulu has been put on report for his display of non-orthodox and near-heretical ideation during the weekly Senior Officer's Bible Study."

Hmmm! I haven't heard that the argument "that man is too wise and advanced to believe in the primitive concept of a God" has many supporters.
Most of us know that there are vast hordes of emotionally crippled people out there, as well as a huge mass of mentally unstable people, not to mention the large amount of people who are just darn gullible, then it's no surprise to us that this argument can ever hold true.
You, quite clearly, are living testament to the fact that the argument doesn't stand-up.

                > Any future that doesn't include my God [...] is not a future I want to be part of.
Any god worth believing in would guarantee to be part of the future you are going to be in.
If people can entirely wipe a god out of existence, the god in question is not really omnipotent, is it?

" ... the fool hath said .." argument suggests that even back in OT times there were intelligent people declaring the non-existence of a god. (It would be pointless to condemn a practice that didn't exist.) Oh, and if I remember my 12 years of Catholic education accurately, Jesus wasn't the creator. You simply must keep your "persons" straight.

But the correct wording is "The fool has said in his heart 'There is a God, if I believe hard enough then that'll make things true, and the bible is not self-contradictory nonsense'.

Except, the Bible isn't a good source for logic, now, is it?

"not a future I want to be part of." Ok... you have several options, then. You can commit suicide by several different means, or you can learn and accept that human advancement is inevitable and a good thing for our species. If it weren't for progress, we would still be primates like our ancestors and basically afraid of our own shadows (and wallowing in ignorance and superstition, much like fundies). So - it's your call.

Any future that doesn't include Chritianity's God - specifically Jesus of Nazareth, the creator of the universe which you put your little space ships in - is deffinately a future I want to be part of. And there can be a better future without God. The logical argument that man is too wise and advanced to believe in the primative concept of a God logically refutes the biblical argument to the contrary: "Declaring themselves to be wise, they became fools; for the fool hath said in his heart, 'There is no God.'"
Fixed.

Young marglar, your marglar make no damned marglar.
But again, we see the problem of the overscrupulous fundie: their consummate pap permits them no room for even fictional universes contrary to THE WAY IT IS YES IT IS LA LA LA LA.
They simply cannot permit their brain to consider the possibility. It's too much room for Satanz. These are the people, remember, who come out of Narnia tales complaining about magic and talking animals and think Aslan is the devil because he's trying to usurp Christ.
Anything that isn't directly given over to praising the lord is wrong, and so Huckleberry Finn is a waste of time.
Cripes, they even claim Christian rock is dangerous because it uses Satan's chords.
...I am so very tired of their thoughtlessness.

LOLWUT? Using the Bible to justify the Biblically-referenced God.
That's called circular logic, the last time I looked.

                1. jesus didn't create the universe

So, what this all boils douwn to is: you're in a snit because a couple of fictional characters (who, even if they were real, will not be born for some two hundred years or more) fail to share your misguided belief in another fictional character. That's like saying: "I don't read 'X-Men' anymore because they're always disrespecting Batman".

"Any future that doesn't include my God - specifically Jesus of Nazareth, the creator of the universe which you put your little space ships in - is not a future I want to be part of."
Then it is truthfully hmghosthost's wish to die.
I am God. But I have nothing to do with Jesus.

“The illogical argument that man is too wise and advanced to believe in the primative concept of a God is logically refuted by the biblical argument to the contrary: "Declaring themselves to be wise, they became fools; for the fool hath said in his heart, 'There is no God.'"”
So, people who thought the Sky was like a tent thought God was real and wrote a few books about it. And you think it’s illogical to call that primitive.
