The fact that you fundies are screaming persecution because you can't oppress anyone anymore is just offensive. It also makes light of the real suffering of truly persecuted Christians in different places around the world.
However, if you live in the U.S. you are most likely just a whiny asshole who is screaming about the loss of a privileged status you never deserved in the first place.

With respect, in most Islamic countries, Christians (and all other non-Muslims) are required to pay extra taxes, and are second class citizens before the law, with their testimony counting half that of a Muslim. That is persecution, though it is a feeble persecution compared to that which Christians perpetrated against Muslims when the shoe was on the other foot.

You already are called haters, because you hate. That isn't persecution; it's freedom of speech. Actual persecution - things like not being allowed to go to church, or vote, or work the job you want, just because of your religion - is never going to happen to American Christians.
The way these people act, you would think they were an oppressed minority or something.

What goes around comes around, stupid. If you spread hatred towards people who are not like you, they will eventually start to hate you back. If you persecute people long enough they will revolt and go against you, given half a chance. THAT is what you're experiencing, billiefan; payback time. If you think it looks ugly and violent, that is what you have provided in the past and it is now coming back to haunt you.
Yes, maybe some day Christians could even hold public office, have churches on every street, and be allowed to preach on every street corner. If only there were some sort of piece of paper which guaranteed religious freedom to the majority of religious people in this country.
