Oddly, the hand medicine thing makes something akin to sense, in context. The scary bit is how he keeps repeating that science is invalid if it builds on other ideas.

Byers - biology is more or less grounded in the theory of evolution. If you can't accept that, you are even more of a stupid cunt than I originally took you for.

It was an insult directed at Gottfried Wilhelm Leibnitz who was quite short and with whom he had an ongoing feud over the development of Calculus.
Of course this says nothing about this guy's world view that nothing is worthwhile unless it came from nothing like god, the world, animals, light, his reasoning...
