I watched the announcement of the results on TV news here in Australia this morning. About 12,000 gay people had gathered in a Sydney park and cheered madly and waved their rainbow flags when it was announced. The camera zoomed in on a male gay couple kissing on the lips. I just cried as I watched the celebrating - I never imagined I would see a day like this in my country, up until recent years. This gay marriage thing has been sweeping the world like a pandemic and I found myself asking (yet again) this morning - why are we still here??
This world is not our home, we just don't belong. I feel as if we are no longer the salt and the light because the world is ignoring God and therefore, also ignoring the church which doesn't really have an audible voice anymore. We are pretty much redundant in our role of upholding Godly, moral standards now, which is a very sad statement about the world's attitude in 2017. Our homecoming must surely be so imminent!
