(on an article about gene tharapy restoring sight)
If God made these people blind, it is a travesty to try to alter His plan. Especially by killing fetuses, that is the ultimate sin against God. Shame on these selfish people.

Wow. I've seen lots of dumb people on FSTDT, but this...
...this....
...this is just...
...
:shakes head, mouth agape:
The problem begins with the fact that this asshole thinks that god makes people blind. Blindness is caused by genetic fuckery and if we can use science to correct this problem we obviously should.
I wonder what Jake would think about someone with 2% vision. If science could make glasses to restore full vision would that be OK? Where does Jake, in his knowing of the almighty's heart, draw the line?
So typical of these religious fuckjobs, protect the fetus at all costs, screw everyone once you are born.
HOW DO WE GET RID OF THESE PEOPLE????
It gets more warped by the minute.
Did God make us houses? No, he didn't, did he? WE made them. What about clothes? Mm? God? Or man? God? Man? Let's see now... do clothes appear out of nowhere? No, they do not. But God didn't GIVE us clothes now did he? So why is that OK? In fact, screw that, why are ALL* technological, medical and social achievements that predate your life OK but new ones "altering God's plan"? Or does God's plan only involve blinding, crippling, mental retardation and that sort of thing?
*nearly
Nice try to slip your anti-abortion agenda to a completely unrelated subject, mr. Agenda.
"Shame on these selfish people."
That was a very interesting choice of words coming from the most selfish hypocrite I have heard of.
as a person with a visual impairment, I would like to humbly request that you drop dead. Or go blind, either way is fine.
And anyway, gene therapy has nothing to do with killing fetuses. Gene therapy does not equal stem cells.
Wow. Someone missed that story about Bartimeus. You know, the blind guy whose sight was restored by Jesus?
Restoring sight to the blind is not against God's plan if God did it too, dumbass.
Hey, Jake, God's plan was for you to contract polio when you were five. Unfortunately, your parents sinned against God and gave you the vaccine, so you're all doomed to Hell.
god meant for us not to talk to people from far corners of the globe: get off of the internet...
btw, gene therapy has NOTHING to do with stem cells, let alone embryonic stem cells
Selfish makes it sound like a poe.
But just in case, I'll make the point that God wants you do do everything that you were going to anyway, just as you would if he didn't even exist. It's part of His Plan!
@ 757721 "Did this fundie fuckwit not even read the article? It clearly mentions using viruses to introduce genes and had absolutely fuck all to do with fetuses"
To an illiterate person "virus" and "fetus" look a lot alike after all, they both have an "s" in them.
Also, why don't you, Jake, do the Christian thing and donate your eyes to a blind person....do it now, why wait until you're dead?
"If God made these people blind, it is a travesty to try to alter His plan"
I bet you would be the first to ask for anaesthetic, though God made you feel pain, which is part of His Plan.
If God, a supposed all powerful being, wanted someone to be born, and wanted someone to be blind, nothing any mere mortal can do could change that outcome.
Do you doubt the power of God, of Jesus Christ OUR savior? That's it, you're OUT OF THE CLUB. Turn in your membership and beating club at the door.
But letting Terri Schiavo die, by taking her off the MAN MADE machines was...?
Also, why oh why do I have a nasty feeling that you have no sensory handicaps...deafness? Blindness? Mute? So do NOT talk to me about God's plans, and how one should just accept what is given, when options to heal themselves arise. It's easy to harp on others to just suck it up when you're perfectly healthy.
Confused?
