Got to admit, I'm pretty sure that no ghosts would bother them when they use that technique.
Likewise, no ghosts would bother them when they carried a bag of frozen brussels sprouts for protection, either.
But the very best way to prevent ghost attacks is to say to yourself, "I don't believe in spooks. I don't believe in spooks. I don't! I don't! I don't!" Or some other such. For some reason, ghosts are really afraid of disbelievers, and the number of ghost encounters by skeptics (outside of the movies & TV) is pretty much zero.

Just go to the local church or temple! They usually sell material components and foci for divine magic.

Sad thing is, I grew up hearing this sort of nonsense and watching people take it far to seriously. In fact, my mom still believes she can talk to god and receive answers like he’s right there talking to her. This stuff about holy shields and demons...it's all disturbingly familiar...
Thankfully I grew up and learned to see it for the paranoid bullshit that it is.

Okay, the original question I understand. I have phobias, and if the asker is young then yeah I can see fear of ghosts. I've heard the watch movies of your fears to get over them before, it doesn't work. But neither does praying for a shield to protect you from fearful situations.

I'm more scared of rapists and robbers in the dark than ghosts, as I'm over 12. Will this White light shield work against them too?
My mum was scared of the dark when she was young. After she had us kids the fear disapeared completely; she was more concerned about protecting us agains anything out there. She went from scared lamb to dangerous lioness.
