I do think sex is a recreational activity, in addition to being a reproductive one. I mean, even married couples like a good shag without wanting to have kids.
Sex is hardly random; it takes intent and effort to set up, and people do pick partners based on personal preference. Sometimes that preference is only with a long-term partner and other times it's with a variety of partners. It's up to the people involved.
Gender does concern the individual in question. He/she only wants to have sex with the gender they are attracted to. It shouldn't concern the rest of us, though. It's their choice after all.
Good judgement and responsibility always matter or you could wind up hurt, dead, or otherwise in danger. Pick partners carefully, whoever or however many they are.
If you can't afford contraception or abortion then you shouldn't have sex. Neither of those things are very costly these days, though, so most people can afford them. Babies aren't a price and they shouldn't be as such.
Exercising good judgement and personal responsibility is an individual trait and does not reflect on whether you are a leftist or not.
I don't see how babies being armed would stop the abortion of fetuses. Considering their inability to grasp the danger of an object, lack of motor-control, and tendency to stick things in their mouths, babies having guns would more likely mean a lot less babies, and less mothers, and fathers, and siblings, and anyone else around them.
