[On the Boy Scouts]
How could they keep any members after that?
Straight parents do not want their straight kids made gay.
The gay groups will tell you "It doesn't work that way" but I have heard enough from formerly gay born-agains that I don't believe it. They all said they were *cultivated* by an older gay person.
Even Danielle Steele discussed it in one of her books - it was a book about a family, one of whom was "cultivated" by an older gay man. Later in the book, he does the same with a younger man.
I don't have kids, and I thank God for it.
In 1992, when I was dating my husband, we agreed "This world is too sick. We can't bring a child into this." That was '92!

formerly gay born-agains
Liars to a man.
Danielle Steele and ex-gay evangelicals are experts on how people "become" gay, whereas gays themselves are lying because of their legendary "agenda", correct?
Yes, the world is too sick. But not for the reasons you think.
Of course that's what the "born-again" are going to say, it's what their pastors mentally torture them to believe. But let me ask you, can they tell you the name of the person that "recruited" them without someone whispering it in their ear? Where they met? The colour of their hair or eyes? Whether any of their friends or family ever saw or spoke to them? Where they lived?
You make someone feel isolated and ashamed enough they'll say they literally fucked Satan in the form of a circus bear while eating a baby if it means being accepted and they'll believe it after saying it constantly.
Simple anyone with common sense knows that straight kids can't "become" gay. That is just a myth fundies created to fuel their hate of Homosexuals.
Yes I thank the Creator you don't have kids ether but for a very different reason.
Formerly Gays are just trying to conform because religion demonizes them and tells them their sexual orientation will damn them to hell. That hurts them.
Sure, because there were never any gay scouts until now.
And this idiot seems to be suggesting that all men are one dark and lonely night away from turning gay. Wow, are we weak!
"Straight parents do not want their straight kids made gay."
Not even wrong. First you don't speak for all straight parents, some may not care if it turns out their kid is gay or straight or bi. Not all straights are homophobes. Second and more important, a straight does not turn gay. FAIL!
I have two young sons, ages 9 and 7, so I'm a straight parent. Let me tell you what I want for my kids (they're too young to know if they're straight or gay and I don't want to guess anything at this time). I want them to be happy and to make good choices in their relationships. If those relationships are straight, that's great. If they're gay, that's great too.
There may be "born again" gay people who decide for religious reasons to remain celibate, and bisexuals who decide to limit themselves to the opposite sex, but there's no such thing as a "formerly gay person". Anyone who was "cultivated" by an older gay person was gay to begin with.
"Even Danielle Steele discussed it in one of her books - it was a book about a family, one of whom was "cultivated" by an older gay man. Later in the book, he does the same with a younger man. "
So everything written in every book is true and possible? Ever heard of "fiction"?
You know what? After having been here awhile, I'm finally voice how thankful I am that we have a site like this, where we're unanimously repulsed by asinine garbage such as this quote, where there's no anti-gay godbags to intrude and say, "Well, it IS true."

As a guy in fact born in 1992 into a world 'too sick' for children, I can assure you I was never cultivated by an older gay person. Hell, I'd only knowingly met one gay person ever before I realised I liked guys rather than girls and I thought he was an idiot.
We are not made homosexual. We are not made heterosexual. We are not made bisexual. We are not made asexual. We have no control over to whom we are attracted.
The children you might have had are lucky not to have had to be raised by people like you.
Straight parents do not want their straight kids made gay.
Wait, back up. The BSA decides not to discriminate against gays and let them be members and suddenly they're a gay stronghold, gay central with a mission to recruit, convert, and cultivate?
Doesn't this lady realize that there are gays everywhere she goes? In schools, on sports teams, in the restaurants she goes to, everywhere? Just because they don't run around with a sign on their forehead doesn't meant they're not there. Is she going to hide under a rock until the rest of her body dies, as her head obviously already has?
What makes the BSA so different and special? Oh, yes of course: they were on the news.
"I don't have kids, and I thank God for it."
Probably the first thing you ever said that I wholeheartedly agree with. Though for very different reasons.
And how many parents of gays do you actually know? My own mother is one, and she absolutely adores my brother's partner, and she and several other parents I know love their child the same now as they did before their kids came out. I'm not a parent either, but at least I can understand and appreciate that parental love transcends everything else.
Danielle Steele? Really?
Well, I guess she is an improvement on Leviticus and the usual scriptural bullshit that fundies love to quote, but then anything would be. You might as well use Wiley E.Coyote as evidence that objects can defy gravity and hang motionless in midair (until they look down, that is.)
This person has chosen the name "Acts 5:41" for herself. Just for the record, here's the text of Acts 5:41 :
"The apostles left the Sanhedrin, rejoicing because they had been counted worthy of suffering disgrace for the Name."
In other words, she thinks of herself as this huge martyr. I'm sure in her own mind she's quite persecuted.
You can't be "made gay", silly, any more than you can be made tall.
Those "formerly gay born-agains" were probably bisexual, or they were lying; just repeating the accepted myth that all gays are pedophiles who make boys gay.
Danielle Steele? Doesn't she write what we in Sweden would call "Dussindeckare" (Dozen-Whodunits), but with Romance instead of sleuths? Yeah, who would have thought that one of the most prolific writers in the world would have used a common misconception like this in one of her hundred or so books.
But, isn't contraceptives a sin? Didn't your God tell you to multiply? Why do you defy God?
"I have heard enough from formerly gay born-agains that I don't believe it. They all said they were *cultivated* by an older gay person."
There's one of your biggest evidences that that's bullshit. Homosexuality has been studied for a long time and this wasn't a factor discovered in any signifigant level.
There are two things that may have your "born again "once" gay" saying such a thing.
1)The church propaganda that insists it's always a choice and that all with Jesus can break the gay thoughts, never to have the slightest gay inclination ever again, and not said but certainly practiced: There's no limitations on how often you can be born again.
2)Fundamentalists never take responsibility for their own desires or acts, somewhere behind it all, even if you can't find a person to blame for your issue, ther's always Satan.
Basing approaches on what your "religion believes" leads to MORE abuse, not less. You fools (to use a kinder word than what occurs to me) are nothing but abuse enablers, hiding under your mask of piousness.
'In 1992, when I was dating my husband, we agreed "This world is too sick. We can't bring a child into this." That was '92! '
Yeah, some people NEVER grow up, and go to their graves throwing these stupid religious tantrums and dramas.
But using Danielle Steele as a scientific reference is kind of cute.
^^^
...some people NEVER grow up, a...
Meh, it's far easier to be born again than grow up.
After reading that recent post about the RR mom and 10-year-old who really, really want to die and go to heaven already, I'd like to give a big hearty THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR NOT REPRODUCING! I even used all caps, shouting it across the web to you and your husband!
Seriosuly, thank you so much. Please don't even adopt, unless you loosen up on the death cult, the hatred, and the stupidity of using fiction as proof of reality.
checkmate: Great point, reminds me of some amusing stories on Not Always Right where people like Acts find out exactly that }B)
And there we have it. The persistent, erroneous belief that you can be "made" gay by another person, and that gay people actively seek to do this to youth.
Well, that and citing Daniel Steele as an expert n such matters.
In 1992, when I was dating my husband, we agreed "This world is too sick. We can't bring a child into this." That was '92!
Why does something tell me that was about the best decision you made. The way RR runs, it's a freaking death cult that brainwashes their young to a sad and depressed life. By not having kids, you just saved innocents from having their lives destroyed by your paranoia.
If you really think that kids can be turned gay, then maybe it's a good thing you didn't have any kids. I'd hate to think what you'd do to them if any of them had turned out gay.
I have heard enough from formerly gay born-agains that I don't believe it. They all said they were *cultivated* by an older gay person.
And all you have to do is find the original gay and drive a stake through his heart, and that will turn all the other gays straight.
I don't have kids, and I thank God for it.
Though I don't think it's the world or the gays that are sick, I think it's more just you (and probably your husband) who is sick. But thanks for not bringing a kid into your rapture death cult.
@Louise Bevilacqua and Garrett Bevilacqua
Well, we DO have His/Troll/Nuts4Life, and we did have some fundies strike back at us in the past (up to and including DoctorDoom).

Well, we DO have His/Troll/Nuts4Life, and we did have some fundies strike back at us in the past (up to and including DoctorDoom). But the latter doesn't last long, and 4Life does take issue with many of the racists quoted on this site, so you do have a point.
The gay groups will tell you "It doesn't work that way" but I have heard enough from formerly gay born-agains that I don't believe it.
Yeah... and it's amazing how frequently those formerly gay people admit they still have same sex attraction...
They all said they were *cultivated* by an older gay person.
Or are just saying shit to make you buy their crap...

According to Acts5:41 other posts her husband is a blind, violent alcoholic with mental problems and a history of assaulting her so she actually is persecuted. But not for being a member of the largest religion in the USA.
So you've met several people who have been bullied into repeating lies and that proves that the lies and hate you spew is correct?
Secondly, the world is actually pretty cool. Sure we have issues we need to address. There is hunger, poverty, and an overabundance of wars. However, that is just one side of the coin. There is love, joy, and wonders that would gladden even the stoniest of hearts. I am sorry you can only see the darkness, that must be very hard for you.
"I don't have kids, and I thank God for it."
There is no god, but we are all better for your not having reproduced.
"I don't have kids, and I thank God for it.

That makes you a very bad Christian.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
