This whole business of looking for life on other planets has as one of its basis
We already KNOW there is other life....they are called angels and demons.

For the last time again (*sigh*), science has no bearing on existence or nonexistence of God. Discovery of life on other worlds would not have the faintest bearing on the existence or nonexistence of God. Now lather, rinse, and repeat that information to yourself as many times as necessary to get it into your head.

To most Christians, moderates, life on other planets wouldn't break any Biblical edicts, He created the entire universe after all.
But to Fundies, there's this bullshit they call literal Biblical truth which states only Earth has life. It's not that they adhere to everything in the Bible as literal, just the shit Fundamentalists decided was key to a One God, One World, One miraculous Beginning.
Again, Shit that makes you special and above all is all that concerns them.
First off, evolution has already been proven. Several times in fact.
In the end, for most fundamentalists, nothing counts unless it praises their God or serves the church.
So the search for life in right up there as wrong with every secular or scientific endevour. When we can't get them to accept ones right to be free of the church, enjoy Pink Floyd or Sci-Fi, control how many children we have and so on,,,of course they hate space exploration.
The existence or non-existence of gods is of no importance to the Theory of Evolution, stupid. When are you people going to realize this?
