Islam is becoming more and more prevalent in our society; sadly there are some things we can't fight. They are allowed to have their grocery stores anywhere they want. The women are allowed to wear the "getup" when I'm out shopping. I dislike seeing a big sign saying "Halal Meats" knowing what that means, and seeing these places very busy makes me even more nauseous. They have a perfect right to have their religion.

I have been screamed at, hated on, and thrown off 2 buses because I offered the driver a Bible. Just in the last year. But I don't think everyone is out to get me and label me a hater as a result.

Listen, unless the people robbing you and the people shooting you with BBs said "this is what we do to Evangelicals" or "we hate evangelicals" or something like that, you have no basis to claim that those were acts of persecution. I've been robbed before and while I've never been hit by a BB I have gotten hit by a stray rock some idiot was throwing. But I'm not going to use that to say "ZOMG THERE PURSECUTING TEH ATHIESTS!!!".

God forbid someone should shout while they're slaughtering an animal. The meat is immediately polluted and rendered unfit to eat. The Bible clearly says that when you kill an animal, you mustn't shout; otherwise, the meat is unfit for a Christian to eat. It's worse yet if you cover yourself while shopping. Then everything you buy will be polluted - not just for you, but for anyone who shops in the same store. That's in the Bible! Why?

Because we all know God is nearsighted. Going to the same school, or living in the same town or even the same country as a non-believer can attract God’s wrath. For example, it’s well-known that our soldiers even good evangelicals are dying in Iraq because the U.S. refuses to outlaw homosexuality. That’s why it’s important to phone death threats, kill their dogs and burn crosses on the lawns of atheists and beat up gays and tie them to fence posts to freeze to death so God knows you’re on His team and not theirs.

And none of that, not a single thing could possibly qualify as "persecution" in any sense of the word. Persecution is being singled out for harm and/or execution for no reason other than your belief, ethnicity, or ideology.

I live in Houston, and I've been forced to go to those Halal meat markets exactly ZERO times. I also don't go to Christian book stores. No one is forcing me to, so live and let live.

As for your persecution, let me tell you a story. A couple weeks ago, I found out my next door neighbor was a pastor starting his own new church. So you know what I did? I went in my garage, grabbed my gas can, walked back outside, opened it up, and... filled up the lawnmower and mowed the lawn.

He seems to be a rather fundamental sort. But you know what? I've lived here for a few months. I've talked to him several times. I only found out he was a pastor that day. I found out because I saw him working on some signs in the driveway, and looked up the URL on them.

He's never been pushy about it. He's never even mentioned it. He's just a friendly neighborhood guy, and even though he's one of y'all rapturites, he's nothing like you. The reason people, ahem, "persecute" you is that you're just an asshole.

So? In my locale, there's a street where there's a Halal butchers, an African Meat shop, and a conventional butchers shop. I've never heard of anyone complaining about such (they've never had protests and/or had their windows smashed). Do you complain about the fact that there exists Kosher butchers, whose practices are as near as dammit to those of Halal butchers? If your answer to that question is the only one possible, you've just destroyed your own argument.

In London, The Arabic district (with the main mosque located there) isn't far from Golders Green, the big Jewish section (which includes the bulk of the UK's Hasidic Jews). There's Halal foodshops and Glatt Kosher foodshops, delis etc respectively (even an Iranian restaurant in Golders Green). I've seen girls there wearing the Hijab at bus stops, alongside Jewish boys wearing the Yarmulke; indeed even, dare I say it... talking to each other??!!!111ONE111eleventyone1?. I've never felt nauseous while I was there, even though I'm an Atheist, so what's your problem Acts5:41?

Pics or it didn't happen. Besides, why are you carping about your 'persecution'? Remember:

Matthew 5:44 (KJV): 'But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you'

And after all, you can't justify being a True Christian if you're never persecuted. Can you?

I have no argument with that but having witnessed first hand the "non-religious" slaughter of a cow (the primary school I went to decided that it would be a fun day out for 11 year-olds to visit the local abattoir), which involved the stunning of the animal with a bolt gun before it was killed, and comparing it to documentary evidence (filmed with the full knowledge and consent of those involved) of halal and kosher slaughter in which, as I'm sure you know, the animal is conscious while its throat is cut, I know which method I'd choose for my own end.

Personally I think that whole "halal/kosher" thing is horrific; the primary reason behind this method of butchering is to commemorate Abraham's act of devotion to God of cutting his son's throat, whom God, in his "infinite mercy", later changed into a sheep (Haa, haa, made you cry Abraham, SURPRISE!!! LOLOLROFLS). So pardon my language, but fuck the animal pain for a second and think about it; this is to celebrate human sacrifice by a bronze age psychopath, still practiced in the 21st century by nearly 2 billion people. But as typical of religiophiles; our Jewish/Muslim friends are always trying to come up with ridiculous pseudo-scientific reasons and alleged health benefits, while both shamelessly willing to make an exception for hunted meat.

Nonetheless, "Acts5:41" is a bigoted idiot who him/herself probably attends a weekly congregation where they hope to make up for their ill deeds by drinking symbolic human blood, and eating the metaphoric flesh of a long dead holy carpenter. So, y'know, pot, kettle, shiny mirror, etc.

Halal is fairly similar to Kosher.

Islam is becoming more and more accepted in society, that's why you see more of it. I bet Americans are allowed to have their grocery stores anywhere they want too, and American women are allowed to wear the "getup" when Muslims are out shopping.

You were shot in the leg with a BB gun for the sole reason of your religion? In what way are robberies linked with religion? I bet you did more than just offer the driver a Bible? Would you have accepted a Quran from him?

Regardless, that is not persecution, dearie, that is just differing opinions. Persecution is to not be able to get or hold a job or a home, to be thrown in jail, to be forced to marry a person of a different religion/gender/sexuality, to be killed or watch your spouse or children being killed.
