Actually with respect to the Galileo Affair, it was indeed within the Church's competency to judge because the topic touched upon Sacred Scripture and the Church Fathers directly. And the Church was right and Galileo was wrong. Science cannot prove the Earth is moving through space. Every experiment ended up telling them that the Earth was not moving. So the establishment, unwilling to admit the Holy Inquisition and 16th Century Church were right, fled behind Relativity which only ended up saying that one could not tell the difference. And now Relativity continues to be untenable and only creates more nonsense. None of Galileo's arguments are even entertained seriously any more even within establishment science which continues to try and foist more nonsense upon us like the ClimateGate Scandal. The Church of Galileo's time would not have fallen for this nonsense precisely because they stood by Tradition and knew what they were talking about. The Churchmen of today abandon Tradition and kiss the feet of heretical science and its adherents who don't possess a shred of credibility.

We have indisputable evidence the Earth and in fact every object in the universe does move.
The Catholic Church admitted they were wrong, why can't you accept it?

...and unfortunately for you, it's 100% wrong .
NASA pix + NASA videos= You not having a fucking clue about science or planetary movement.
Climategate was a fatuous nonissue that involved extreme cherry picking.
Also, explain the moon landings.
Yet somehow you find yourself able to post silly nonsense on line, and have it sent around the world with satellites who are actually up there looking at the earth..... Where in the bible does it explain that, chapter and verse? And where in some desert tent were these satellites actually manufactured and launched into orbit in biblical times? And do the satellites have their own patron saint?
The church of Galileo's time did not have the concept of a frame of reference to rely on, so their misunderstanding of the mechanics involved can be somewhat explained (but not excused).
You, however, are an idiot.
"Science cannot prove the Earth is moving through space. Every experiment ended up telling them that the Earth was not moving."
Except that literally all of the research and evidence points to the opposite of that and whenever you lot try to prove otherwise you find that your ideas are false and you either clam up suddenly or you get very angry and belligerent.
If you were correct, then the entire universe can't even be as large as the orbit of Neptune, because the whole thing would rotate around us at a faster speed than the speed of light if it was. Since Einstein's Theory of Relativity has been repeatedly shown to be true by experiment and observation, the universe cannot be any larger than that.
Since virtually every observation of the universe in which we live indicates that it is very, very large, either every astronomer and physicist since the 1800s is hideously mistaken, everyone has been flat-out lying for centuries now, or you are wrong.
The simplest explanation is that you are wrong.
"Actually, with respect to the Jesus Affair, it was indeed within the Temple's competency to judge because the topic touched upon the Sacred Scripture and the High Priest directly. And the Temple was right and Jesus was wrong...."
So tell me Johnno, how the fuck do stars travel faster than the speed of light so that the earth can remain stationary?
The Sol system is part of a much larger universe, even if we only look at the Milky Way, Almost every star we see is thousands of light years to one hundred thousand light years away, in order for them to orbit the earth, they would have to travel at speeds that would make sci-fi writers blush.
That's not even counting our closest galactic neighbor, Andromeda, which is 2.5 million light years away.
You have no sense of scale dumbass. Simply put the earth orbits the sun, which orbits our galactic center. Our galaxy is part of a local group within the galactic super-cluster "Laniakea" This group is a large number of galaxies that are being influenced by a common gravitation center. This super-cluster is moving through an enormous universe.
@Sasha
"Johnno's the kind of guy who believes the light stays on inside the fridge when you close the door."
Sorry, but I had a fridge that did that...
“Actually with respect to the Galileo Affair, it was indeed within the Church's competency to judge because the topic touched upon Sacred Scripture and the Church Fathers directly.”
Actually, the Church authorities agreed with Galileo, the evidence was strong. They just wanted time to figure out how to shift the church’s position and claim that that had ALWAYS been the official position.
“And the Church was right and Galileo was wrong. Science cannot prove the Earth is moving through space.”
It’s just the best explanation we have for the evidence we have collected, that’s all. Of course, that’s all ANY science has. Not proof, nothing’s proven except in Math and Courtroom Dramas.
“Every experiment ended up telling them that the Earth was not moving.”
Like the bomb experts who told Truman the A-bomb would never work?
“So the establishment, unwilling to admit the Holy Inquisition and 16th Century Church were right,”
Completely wrong.
“And now Relativity continues to be untenable and only creates more nonsense.”
Then why does GPS not work unless we program relativity into the assessments?
You not understanding something is not an argument that it’s in error.
Confused?
