Elmo (my dog) will sense the Rapture before I know about it, and will cuddle close to me so I can snatch him up when the trumpet blows! That would be awesome.

God will rapture you, my little pretty, and your little dog, too, ahahahahah!
Papabear - actually, if you check the original source, the quote is prefaced by "Maybe if I'm lucky," which makes the tenses consistent. Not that it reduces the facepalm index any...
And this is based on your observations of other dogs in other Raptures?
But then again, since most all of Christianity is based upon rip-offs, mis-translations, and unsupported assertions (such as that Mary shot off into Heaven upon dying), I suppose kgreen20 isn't worse than the first person to claim that we're all descended from the survivors of a certain Ark.
You got all figured out ,No reason to worry about retirement or IRAs or mutual fund ,
,Because your big Sky Daddy going take you all all away from here before you need them,Just like Peter Pan took the Wendy and her brother to Never Never land
Keep saying that and 40 years from now while you ll still be looking out the window wounder what the fuck happen to the trumpets of rapture and eating canned cat food and wear 8 sweater because your freezing you elderly ass and slowly starving to death because you couldnt afford the oil or food ,and pay for you meds and the rent ..
Hey don't worry the government got a nice stipend check with your name on it you ll be fine living off 120 a week ...
Hey don't worry though the government got your back with a nice stipend check with your name on it you ll be fine living off 500 a month
Well, finally we have the answer to a heavy-duty question that has stumped theologians for centuries: yes, you can take household pets with you when the Rapture happens, but only if you're touching them.
But can ALL dogs go to heaven? Do any dogs go to Hell? Like maybe Hitler's alsatian?
Also does this work for ANY pet? For example, could one similarly bring a cat, turtle, or goldfish to heaven with you? About goldfish, is it enough to hold the bowl, or does one need to touch the actual fish?
We need to know these answers!
... and then kgreen woke up... and it was still the same old miserable world, where nobody liked him and only his dog Elmo seemed to have a vague interest in him, but that was rather because Elmo could expect food and snacks from him.
Sorry, buddy, according to the big book dogs have no souls and so Elmo cannot go with you, whether or not you are holding him.
It's ludicrous even within your own dogma to believe this - if it were true, all the sinners would have to do to escape the flames of hell would be to grab onto a christian as soon as they hear the trumpet.
And, which is it, "Elmo WILL sense" or "That WOULD be awesome?"
Contitionality is not a tense, especially since s/he said "maybe." It is perfectly acceptable to use it with the future tense.
Dumb, but not an error of grammar.

Well, at least you're a cheerful one.
...I feel bad pointing out that most fundies, including the majority of those on RR, believe that animals have no souls.

Man I wish I owned a trumpet and lived next door to these people.
Amen! Though, you have to admit, it is kind of sad and creepy, isn't it?
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
