Well, classic Econ. 101 says run a deficit budget when the economy tanks; run a surplus when it recovers. That's what Obama is doing. The only one who has violated this rule is Dubya, who put through tax cuts to create a deficit during a downturn (perfectly OK), but continued to run enormous deficits after the economy recovered.
That's one of the problems with generating deficits with tax cuts: no politician can take them back after they're no longer needed for stimulus. (The other problem is you don't get much stimulus to the US

First of all, no one, not even W, Clinton, Hoover, or any other president would ever intentionally crash the economy.
Secondly, Obama's Catholic, not Muslim. And even if he were, so what? There's no reason to believe he would (let alone could) become a Muslim dictator.
Third, do "Socialist Muslim" dictators even exist? I would think Islamic Theocrats would be rather conservative. Again, there is no reason to think or believe Obama has done anything that would (or even could) lead to dictatorship.
I continue to await your explanation of how, in any way, destroying the country would give him more power.

Since it has been declared elsewhere that the rapture is next May 21st, surely you can say whether or not the Rapture Ready Presidential Predictions have started, before you indulge in the possible Whooshfest? My favorite part of rapture ready political discussions is that, in almost every thread, there's at least one person who says "Obama is setting up a scenario where there probably won't be an election in 2012." I adore that anyone would think that is a possibility that is more likely than any other. That some half black guy who can't get anything accomplished outside of raising taxes will overthrow a centuries old electoral system within the next 18 months

BTW, GWB and his self-serving administration are the ones who put not just the US, but the world economy into a nose-dive. The amount of suffering that this has caused is incalculable. Remember the sub-prime business? Who was president then? Who was responsible for letting banks behave irresponsibly and for not applying controls on them??? Way before Obama. It's really bad when one is either so ignorant that one does not know the fact, or even worse, when one lies to oneself.

Last time I heard, the $700 billion bailout plan was your God Emperor of Fucking Up, George Dumbya Bush's idea. Obama merely implemented what was all but passed by the Senate & Congress by the time he'd entered the White House.
Way before Obama had even been elected, under the wise and financially prudent policies of Dumbya, the trade surplus he'd inherited from the previous administation (Bill Clinton's Democrats) was intelligently used to fund two wars that wasted trillions of dollars, and wiped out thousands of infinitely more valuable American lives.
As a result of Dumbya's wise administration, foreign policy, and prudent & frugal use of the public purse, in the latter half of his second term, USA became the most hated country on the planet, most militarily adventuristic & imperialistic, virtually a diplomatic pariah, and was reduced to borrowing $1.5-2 billion a day just to keep up it's economy; USA's debts were bought up by the same lender too. Say hello to your new landlord, Repubicans, Neocons, Teabaggers & Religious Right:

And as you elected him in - twice - thus you have nobody to blame for the financial pass your country's in but yourselves, Ruptured Retards. It's all your fault.
And the unenviable task of repairing the almighty financial, industrial, commercial, political & social, and especially diplomatic, military and P.R. fuckups as a result of Dumbya - and ultimately you of the Religious Right - falls upon President Barack Obama. All of which he inherited from the previous president, and not of his own making.

I think I have solved the Rapture Ready Paradox where people posting on RR seems totally disconnected from reality and the reason is simple. RR is a portal to a parallel universe and what they are telling us is real in this other universe.
I smell a Nobel prize in physics for discovering the portal to a new universe, better start packing and make a hotel reservation in Stockholm...

@Xotan: I used to think the same thing, but the original Arabic word actually does have the short I sound rather than the long E sound on the second syllable. What you suggested is a faux-exotic pronunciation that no actual Middle East expert I know uses.
Not to mention that the original word had the notoriously difficult 'kh' sound, so if you can't do it you're mispronouncing anyway.
@fundie: I think you mean Imams rather than Caliphs however we're pronouncing it, because there were far more than 12 caliphs. 12 caliphs would be from Abu Bakr to a few decades into the Umayyad dynasty, i.e. a very small portion of Islamic history. The myth of the 12 Imams is a completely different thing.
Hey, the economy was already crashed when he took the job. The dunce before him managed to crash not only the economy of the US, but the economy of the whole world.
