They were communists AND ATHEISTS. Atheists are the most vile and violent people on our earth are both - they, not Christians, hold the records for most killing. Even Hitler abandoned God, sold art, went vegetarian and killed Christians.

I see that you find the fact that he sold art and went vegetarian more important than the fact that he killed millions of people. Also, as far as I know, he did not target Christians because he WAS ONE idiot. Nice way to try to make the Holocaust all about you assholes, though.

Mao and Stalin's policies were dictated by their politics, not their religious beliefs or lack thereof. Hitler consistently identified himself as a Christian. Further, the German of that time was considered the most Christian nation in Europe. And all those Aryan SS guys? Christian to a man. You had to be in order to be accepted. I have trouble debating Republicans because I laugh so hard it's difficult to catch my breat.

But that doesn't make Christianity bad, and Mao and Stalin don't make atheism bad.
Because, you see, atheism does not tell people to kill people. Atheism says that there is no god, and obviously I deal with it just fine.
I wonder if MoBushin04 actually realizes such forms of Communism exist as Christian Communism, Buddhist Communism, and Muslim Communism...but then again, maybe not.

Fine, at least this one. Considering that the Catholic church was very adamant at making anyone they could get their hands on believe in Jesus, there weren't very many atheists to even commit very many atrocities, so before there even was a sizable amount of atheists we can easily contribute most of the killing to Christians.

Even if we DID assume that every single death caused by Mao, Stalin and Hitler were done for the cause of Atheism (which is false), it would STILL BE NOTHING compared to the track record of violence, deception and genocide caused by religion.

I really despise this line of argument. Hitler was a Christian, but first and foremost he was a Nazi dictator. Don't lose sight of the villain in your rush to condemn your enemies.

The whole Hitler was a christian or Hitler was an atheist is certainly debatable although I believe the evidence shows that Hitler was still a practicing catholic, but who knows and who the fuck cares?
Hitler still killed 6 MILLION people based on a religious label. 6 MILLION people who were different only because they worshipped a slightly, very slightly, different version of the imaginary friend.
Furthermore, whether or not Hitler was an atheist is irrelevant when you consider that almost all of the people that carried out his orders were MOST DEFINITELY christian.
I cant speak for all the republicans I have met.. but the ones who are the religious conservative types are mostly dumber than a bag of rocks.

Stalin as I recall, was educated in a Christian (Russian Orthodox Church)seminary in Tibilsi,Georgia, & in his youth, briefly considered becoming a monk, before he entered politics...
