Freedom is the ability to choose the good. Being able to choose the evil, or promoting evil detracts from our ability to choose the good. Therefore, it detracts from our freedom for condoms to be legal.

So, "freedom" is having only one way to go, and any choice, itself, is evil? Oh, spitupon, where do you fundies come up with this shit?
Do I get to sit in George Orwell's chair, too?
Freedom is the ability to choose the wise. Being able to choose the stupid, or promoting stupidity detracts from our ability to choose the wise. Therefore, it detracts from our freedom for you to spout such stupidity.
Oranges are orange
Bob's car is orange
Therefore, Bob's car is an orange.
Oh, the dangers of logic run amok!
Freedom is the ability to choose the good. Being able to choose the evil, or promoting evil detracts from our ability to choose the good. Therefore, it detracts from our freedom for fudieism to be legal.
Fixed.
Freedom is the capacity of choosing, good, bad or whatever. Otherwise, the story of Adam and Eve doesn't make fucking sense. Following your logic, weapons shouldn't be legal(and they're more harmful than a condom), fast food shouldn't either, alcohol, etc................
Looks like Dorfl was right- You say to the people "Throw off your chains", and they make new chains for themselves.
Terry Pratchett has got to be one of the greatest philosophers of our age.
Freedom is the ability to choose the good.
- correction. Freedom is having the uninhibited right to choose good, bad or indifferent and all shadings in between.
Being able to choose only one option is in reality no freedom. It is a compulsion.
Sto stop playing with self-supposed logic. You are basically as thick as two short planks in what you have stated here.
You are an idiot, and the Catholic Church's stand on condoms (and birth control in general) is illogical in the face of the population explosion in developing countries, to say nothing of HIV and other STDs.
The Catholic Church is an anachronism and the sooner it dies the better for the planet and its people.
"...Being able to choose the evil, or promoting evil detracts from our ability to choose the good. ..."
Bull.
Shit.
How good are you really if you do what you do just because you have no other option?
It that's the case, spetreopn, when God gave us Free Will in the Garden of Eden, He detracted from our freedom by creating the Tree of Forbidden Knowledge.
Therefore, by your logic, Original Sin isn't the product of free will, it's the product of a lack of free will.
Oranges are orange
Bob's car is orange
Therefore, Bob's car is an orange.
And what spetreopn describes is about as queer as a Clockwork Orange.
freedom means you can choose between "good" or "evil" - both terms being often subjective.
If you aren't allowed the freedom to choose "evil", you have no free will
I'm in awe. And some people wonder how such things as the Inquisition were possible...
Sing along, everybody!
1..2..3..4.."Ever-y sperm is saaay-cred, ever-y sperm is great... iiif a sperm is waaay-sted, god gets quite irate!"
PS I just had to edit this to note: I posted, then saw Rev. Davidus' comment... apparently great minds do think alike ;)
FREEDOM IS SLAVERY
WAR IS PEACE
IGNORANCE IS STRENGTH
EDIT: Okay, I wasn't the first to reference Mr. Orwell. And I second the "Fundie Doublethink" award.
It seems most here aren't familiar with the origins of this argument. "Christian liberty" or freedom to choose good is found in the writings of Locke, Tocqueville, Calvin, and others in the Enlightenment and post-enlightenment periods. Those authors claimed that true freedom is the freedom to pursue the good and worship god. They contended that civil liberty, or freedom to do as you wish, is a corrupt liberty advocated by the wicked and the unfaithful.
Most Christians do not subscribe to such beliefs anymore, but I do encounter it in theosophical works every now and then.
You are a stupid bigotted assholes. Ability to do only good does not equal freedom. In fact, any moral stance is irrelevant to the idea of freedom. Freedom is the ability to do whatever you want; preferably, in a political way, as long as it doesn't infringe another persons freedom and right.

So, freedom = not having a choice?
And condoms = evil because you say so?
Er, right. Maybe you should have a talk with the men in white coats, eh?
Still, you can not buy those condoms, the same way I don´t way a 100,00'$ condo even though they exist. That´s freedom CHOOSING.
Ok, so, following your stupid logic, we should ban skyscrappers because you can´t help jumping from them and committing suicide. Man, if you can´t help choosing the Devil, that´s not freedom(or personality, for that matter)
How did condoms end up in this mix?
Anybody who thinks sex is not GOOD, raise your hands. Anyone? Someone? Nah, didn't think so. Freedom to buy as much condoms as we want, then.
Condoms have been around for hundreds of years, God has not put in any veto's yet.
"Freedom is the ability to choose the good. Being able to choose the evil"

Proof that God is evil . Ergo, why I choose to be an Atheist.
QED.
Your definition of freedom is fucked up.
So is your definition of evil.
Freedom is the ability to make your own choices. Period.
If you ban condoms you restrict people's freedom because you prevent them from making the choices they might want to.
We restrict people's freedom with laws when the exercise of certain choices would cause pain and suffering, or disrupt society.
Condoms do not cause suffering, in fact they prevent considerable potential suffering in the form of diseases and unwanted pregnancy. Condoms do not disrupt society, in fact they prevent the disruption of society caused by having to take care of sick people or pregnant people who are too young or poor to support themselves.
Note that the fact that certain people find the existence of condoms offensive doesn't count as "suffering" because they have chosen their own opinion and it's their fault they are upset.
Therefore there is no logical justification for banning condoms.
The sky is blue, therefore, dogs are my favorite kind of pet.
That makes as much sense as your idiotic ramblings.
Why does this remind me of that Terry Pratchet story when the being from Chaos dimension get's inside a wizard and decides to make the whole world "grey" (by banning both good and evil, effectively destroying every reisistance)?
P. S. Wasn't "Freedom is abillity to choose good" plot used in one episode of "Charmed" on which Leo (the elder of light) has to kill Gideon (another elder of light) as to do enough evil to return the balance into the world? /rant
Freedom is also the ability to choose the bad. If you can only choose the good, then it's not much of a choice, really.
"You can have any color on your car that you want, as long as you want black." Something like that.
Where did condoms enter into this? Condoms makes it possible to have sex when you want to, which is good, without bringing unwanted children into the world, which whould be bad.
See; you don't own the definitions on what "good" and "bad" or "evil" is.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
