The Koran is nothing more than a way for theocrats to rule over their people. And it was ment to be that way.

Bad news, Jedi_wannabe... all holy books are that way.
Religion exists first to benefit the priests, second to benefit the princes, and third to ALWAYS benefit the priests. - Lazarus Long (Robert Heinlien)
"The Bible is nothing more than a way for theocrats to rule over their people. And it was ment to be that way."
I think that was what you were trying to say, correct?
And now you know why George Washington, Thomas Jefferson et al included the Establishment Clause in the US Constitution. Also, three words:
Treaty of Tripoli.
Undoubtedly true.
While the Hebrew and Greek Bibles have their violent portions, the Quran (Koran) is filled almost entirely with violence. The bulk of the Quran consists of admonitions to kill infidels.
Don't believe me. Here it is:

I'm with #1477757. The Abrahamic scriptures in general were written to secure the power of the priestly classes. Okay, the gospels are an exception (Jesus isn't portrayed as particularly political). Of course, all True Christians know that the epistles of Paul are the REALLY important part of the New Testament, and protecting power was a huge concern for Paul and the later writers who forged letters in his name.
Meh'd
Because the Bible wasn't assembled by a council forming an institution after all. It was God and his son.
"We shall give them these scrolls which they shall copy over and over through the ages into tomes called the book"
" And you'll smite anyone who makes mistakes or changes them, Dad?"
" Hell no, What do I care what those monkeys do, just doing this for giggles Jebus"
I'd say it's fundie because it singles out the Koran, an Atheist is more likely to say religion, a Christian, especially a fundamentalist since it's part of their Dogma, more likely to single out the Koran.
Could be out of context, Sam Harris would say something like that but he'd mention the Bible being of the same agenda at some point.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
