Brandy, if you have ever done some studying on the origins of words, you would see that the word "pharmacy" is derived from the word "pharmakia". "Pharmakia" is directly linked to the occult. Pharmacies sell drugs like Zoloft, Tofranil, Prozac and Lithium, NONE of which occur in the natural world. Those drugs are merely a cash cow for the brazenly greedy comapnies that manufacture them. Brandy, you'd be wise to re-assess your career direction, and choose one that doesn't mislead people. Ever read the "vulnerable adults" act? In it is a clause protecting those that are "mentally ill" and, for whatever reason, are highly susceptible to fraud. Technically speaking, Brandy, and pertaining solely to psychology, the very "science" of psychology violates the "vulnerable adults" act.
As far as the other messages I read, from tiffany, Derek, and "anonymous": It sounds to me like the 3 of you are just a little bit angry that someone like Andy & Berit aren't afraid to speak their minds. Maybe you 3 could learn a thing or two from your elders.

Computers don't occur in nature*, artificiality is of the DEBBIL, therefore, Todd H is a wizard, and should be burnt.
*If they do, I demand a computer plant.
Actually Zoloft, Tofranil and Prozac occur as natural entities. Its just that we need them in chemical quantities to have an effect. They don't occur in the wild but their analogues do.
As for things that "occur in nature"... YOU ARE CONVERSING TO MILLIONS OF INDIVIDUALS VIA A MAN MADE OBJECT! Shut the hell up!
Lithium is natural...just a kind of edited version so it doesnt you know...kill us. Asprin is also natural. Penecillin also natural. Your computer however not natural. Your attempt at ASCII art? Fail
Also not forgetting to mention. Psychologists cannot prescribe medicine psychiatrists however can.
"Mental retardation is NOT mental "illness" as many people have been tricked into believing. It is a PHYSICAL lack of development in the human brain in a particular area. Some people have grown out of it, some have not. THAT is a MEDICAL, not EMOTIONAL diagnosis."
Thats a gem of a piece from the rest of the letter.
Excuse me but that isn't the etymology of the word pharmacy.
"Etymology:
Late Latin pharmacia administration of drugs, from Greek pharmakeia, from pharmakeuein to administer drugs, from pharmakon magic charm, poison, drug. "
Quit with the definitions neatly trimmed to fit, would ya?
I thought lithium was naturally-occurring?
Either way, what does it matter? Cake doesn't occur in nature either (but the ingredients do).
solomongrundy beat me to it - and shouldn't there be a limited dispersal of bibles, perhaps a recall? At least there should be a veracity disclaimer permanently attached to them.

"those that are "mentally ill" and, for whatever reason, are highly susceptible to fraud."
Fundies are highly susceptible to fraud. I've always suspected they're mentally ill. Maybe you should take some of those drugs.
Lithium is element 3 in the periodic table. Yes it does occur naturally.
And the only explicit clause I know protecting mentally ill people is the rule of contract law that a person determined to be mentally unstable cannot enter into a contract. However most pharmacists don't violate the "vulnerable adults" act, should any exist, because rights of the mentally ill person are transferred to a caregiver who makes the decisions for the ill person.
Yes, those drugs are over-prescribed. Yes, the pharmaceutical companies are greedy and corrupt. However, mental illness is no myth and sometimes these drugs do help people. (without using occult methods)
Brandy, choose the career direction you think is right for you. Tell Todd to go fuck himself.
Pharmacy comes from the Greek word Pharmakos, which means "drug". How, exactly, is that linked to the occult?
Lithium IS natural.
The rest of your diatribe is simply rubbish. As is your attempt at ACSII art. That, actually, is fucking hilarious.
Todd, if you have ever done some studying on the origins of words, you would see that the word "mall" is derived (via a very convoluted path) from the Italian name of the game we call "croquet". What is added to the meaning of the word "mall" by knowing that? There's a grammatical term for error of using a word based on its origin instead of its current meaning, but it escapes me at the moment ...
Lithium totally occurs naturally, how do you think we get lithium-ion battery packs?
Words mean nothing, stop valuing them so fucking much.

OhmyTeapot, I'm such a 1337 counterfeiter.
Everything is made of atoms, which exist in nature. You weak feeble Christians are afraid to not following a book written thousands of years ago for dulling the masses. You are not willing to use your inner powers, and all this meaningless world has to offer. Unless you begin to think for yourself, I will crush you in my quest for self-realization.

Of course if Todd gets sick he gets medical treatment, because he's special and can withstand the evils of modern medicine.
Anyway if all of the mentally ill people were properly treated, where the hell would Crossroad Ministries get new converts from?
As someone who was a nervous wreck before antidepressants allowed me a mesure of control over my OCD, FUCK YOU! (preferably with a spiked baseball bat)

Something like that?

"Pharmacies sell drugs like Zoloft, Tofranil, Prozac and Lithium, NONE of which occur in the natural world. "
Yes, unbeknownst to the rest of the world, the components of the pills are actually sucked from warpspace, through a black hole contained in a pentagram drawn with the blood of cloned christian virgins, mindcontrolled by the roswell aliens, who use the money to pay the reptillian shadow government.
Did i leave anything out?
Lithium is a kind of battery, not a kind of medicine.
Also, whether it occurs in the natural world or not, as long as it is possible to create why should it not be created just because it doesn't occur in the natural world?
Simple hand tools such as hammers and saws don't exist in the natural world, yet they are essential to constructing basic housing.
There was a guy on Wikipedia a few years ago who went under the handle WHEELER. Got himself an assload of trouble for attempting to redefine words according to his own (sometimes rather idiosyncratic) classicalist interpretations, as if meanings were not supposed to shift over time and the meaning of a word in English was supposed to precisely reflect a word in Koine Greek 2300 years ago. I don't even know if he's still an active editor -- he got himself smacked down but I don't remember him receiving any kind of permanent ban for it.
People who insist on playing etymology games like that piss me off.
Also, Todd is technically correct -- a lot of those substances don't exist in nature. But then again, for the most part neither do steel, plutonium, porcelain, or elemental fluorine. (Okay, I'm stretching a bit on plutonium.) The latter is part of makes drug development so interesting -- pharma chemists love organofluorine chemistry because it's almost nonexistent in nature, so there's lots and lots and LOTS of papers to publish.
"the word "pharmacy" is derived from the word "pharmakia". "Pharmakia" is directly linked to the occult."
Todd H., that means you should NEVER EVER EVER take any antibiotics, because they're only available through Pharmacies.
If you happen to catch pneumonia, oh well! Too bad. Sometimes you have to die for your cause, I guess.
@Ltap: Actually, lithium is a fairly common, and reasonably effective, treatment for manic-depression (or "bi-polar disorder").
The bunny....
Made me think of Hunny-kun.
....Hunny-kun made me think of lolishota....
Lolishota...Paedophilia....=/ Okay....Not...Shonky....At all...
Lithium is an element, you fucking retard.
And all those other things ARE natural. They exist in the universe, so therefore-- natural! Unnatural would be like antimatter or something with imaginary geometry or whatever.
I'm on two medications for depression and anxiety, and on top of that, I have meds for panic attack, too. Without them, I am a neurotic mess, barely able to function, miserable and depressed and wishing I was dead. When I'm medicated, I can function, actually enjoy life, and feel like a normal damn person.
So, my message to Todd is "fuck you, you ignorant twit."
not a bad attempt at the bunny
Lithium occurs naturally. You know Hydrogen , Helium, Lithium, Byrillium(spelled wrong) and Boron.
do less messages and more bunnies.
Confused?
