what would I do if our money had "there is no god" written on it?
it's simple - i wouldn't use it. i'd take my family and go live in the woods somewhere and eat pinecones so why don't you go do the same now if you don't like what it says? anyway, my god feeds the smallest of his creatures, why wouldn't he feed me and my family if we lived out in the woods with the rest of his creatures?

First, because there is no god. Second, the smallest creatures eat microbes, or ingest nutrients directly from the soil.
Third, if you tried to take your children into the woods, some agency would, rightfully, remove them from your guardianship for their own protection.
As to your first question, it says that on the currency illegaly, since it violates the constitution.
You're dangerous.
You know, I would love to see you try that, though I would also love to see which animal would get you first...
Bears would go at you if you smell of their food source
Wolves would probably try if they thought you were dead (Asleep and you didn't have someone watch the fire)
Or Cougars because you... Were there.
"anyway, my god feeds the smallest of his creatures, why wouldn't he feed me and my family if we lived out in the woods with the rest of his creatures?"
Because your god doesn't actually exist, and those creatures feed themselves? I knew there was a reason I occasionally take a black Sharpie to the word "GOD" on my money, and this is probably it.

That's funny, I have the opposite view. Since "In God we trust" is inaccurate, inappropriate and unconstitutional, I routinely obscure it on all bills which pass through my hands. It's a service I provide to my nation.

I encourage you to eat lots and lots of pinecones. You'll die, but go ahead.
"so why don't you go do the same now if you don't like what it says?"
Because the U.S. is my home. I am a part of the "we" that slogan is supposed to be referring to, yet I do not trust in "God." It is a violation of my rights to require me to pass out handbills stating that I DO trust in "God."

Uh huh. Let's run a scientific experiment to see if that's true. You go live in the woods, with no assistence from anyone else, and wait for "God" to feed you. Do this for a couple of months, then let's review your results.
StandardDeviant, your comment about the sharpie just gave me an idea.
What if all atheists start using a pen to add the letter L to "GOD" on all paper currency? IN GOLD WE TRUST.
It would make the sentence relevant, at least, since paper money at one time represented gold. And it would just... ya know... piss off religious people.
I pledge to do this to all the bills that pass through my stinkin' ape-descended paws, from now on! Who's with me? Let's start a meme!

That actually made me giggle.
Why would I insist that money say that? I don't happen to believe in God, but I'm not going to try to force you to believe as I do. Take your God money. Just don't try to force me to believe he exists.
The smallest of creatures find their own damn food, so you'd be up shit creek without a paddle. Scratch that, you'd have a paddle but you'd hope the current would carry you to shore.
And guess what? The people who take issue with "In God We Trust" would prefer no mention of any deities. They wish it to be secular.

Wouldn't that be illegal?
Anyway, this cookietoe sounds like a darned idiot. Of course, "There is no God" would be violating the Constitution too, wouldn't it?
It could be called illegal right now to put a tiny "L" on the back of paper money, but I agree with whitewater55 that it's already illegal for that whole sentence to be on the currency in the first place.
The founding fathers would open a can of whoop-ass on the people in the 50's who added that shit.
By all means go live in the woods somewhere and eat pinecones. Some hunter will find your bleached bones out there in a year or two. No great loss, because hey! You'll be whooping it up with Jesus in heaven, right?
Yes, God does feed all his creatures. You might want to know, however, that he has a nasty habit of feeding them TO EACH OTHER.

I just got this picture of Zombie Thomas Jefferson rising from the grave, ripping McCarthy's arm off, and beating him over the head with it.
That would make the most fucked-up political-statement movie of all time. I demand that someone do it.

Ultimate Showdown of Ultimate Destiny Zombie Abe flashback here ^^

So typical that it's practically a key tenet of religion: "Give God the credit for someone else's work. If you work your ass off to earn something, praise God because he gave it to you and your own work was a worthless waste of time."
@StandardDeviantI knew there was a reason I occasionally take a black Sharpie to the word "GOD" on my money, and this is probably it.
Actually, I ink out the entire phrase and replace it with "E Pluribus Unum." I generally also add another note at the bottom, such as: "Atheist Money" or "Keep Money Secular" or "Ignostic Money." (Yes, the first and third actually contradict each other, but I am an atheist regarding the Christian definition of "god," so it works.)
Sooo, all we have to do to get rid of these people it write "There is no God" on US money? That's pretty sweet.
I wonder what they would do if they came to the UK and realised we have Charles Darwin on our £10 notes? lol
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
